The Kidde 9C05UK is a battery-operated carbon monoxide (co) alarm and uses the patented Nighthawk electrochemicalcarbon monoxidesensor to help protect you and your family from the dangers of carbon monoxide. This Kidde 9C05UK is easy to install, when the Kidde 9C05UK is operating and hazardous carbon monoxide levels are not detected its green LED flashes every 30 seconds. In a carbon monoxide emergency the red LED pulses and an 85 db horn sounds at specific intervals until the carbon monoxide threat is eliminated. The 9C05UK unit is powered by AA batteries which enables continuous monitoring of carbon monoxide levels, even during power outages. The Kidde 9C05UK has an alarm that tells you when the batteries need to be replaced. For peace of mind, a test/reset button is fitted on the unit which allows you to test that alarm is functioning properly. This particular model comes with a peak-level memory this keeping track of the maximum carbon monoxide level detected between resets. The 9C05UK is covered with a 7-year manufacturer’s limited warranty and replacement is recommended after seven years.

If you are looking at this alarm means you need one. On Tuesday 2nd January my wife and I with our 4 week old son returned from a week with my mother at Christmas. We turned the heating on and finally relaxed in front room with our son. We were dozing off when this alarm went off which was above fireplace. The emergency gas leak engineer said our back boiler had become blocked and fumes were staying in the room. I am just very relieved that I got this a few weeks before Christmas and dread to think of consequences. This alarm is simple to use. Just insert batteries and place in room. IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS ALARM THEN AT LEAST BY A DIFFERENT ONE.

The Kidde Carbon Monoxide detector arrived promptly and is easily fixed to the wall with 2 screws and plugs (included). The detector can be slotted into the base on the wall or moved around the house if required, but must be kept upright.
Fortunately we have not had cause for it to go off other than on our regular test - which can be heard from all parts of the home!
As with all Carbon monoxide detectors it has to be replaced after 6 years.

I bought one of these recently. It comes in a clear plastic blister pack with instructions, screws, mounting bracket and batteries. Out of the pack it looks just like a smoke detector, and is fitted the same way. It took a couple of minutes to install. It goes on the wall, held by two screws. You mount the bracket on the wall, and then slot the detector into it. The device can be reremoved easily if necessary, though the battery compartment is on the front panel. I fitted mine at the top of the staircase.
Just like a smoke detector, it has test and reset buttons. The green light flashes every 30 seconds so you know it is working. It is not intrusive at all.
Just as I would not live in a house without a smoke detector, I would not be without a CO detector.

I bought this item in February 2011, in October the Alarm sounded. The product taken downstairs and out to the garden. The alarm still sounded. Put new batteries in. Still sounded. Read more
