It is presented here in its widescreen version, in an excellent transfer with especially vibrant colours surpassing all previous video and TV broadcast versions I have seen. There are some minor blemishes on the print but nothing serious. The soundtrack is in mono, yet is clear and free of distortion. Unfortunately, except for the film's theatrical trailer there are no extras included.
Anyone caring for an entertaining Elvis movie needn't hesitate.
Although the music is generally very good, it does nothing for the film.
Elvis is excellent in the fight scenes, with his karate skills put to good use; especially in the fight montage as he builds up to the big fight.
Co-starring Gig Young and Charles Bronson in a role just after The Magnificent 7 and The Great Escape. Bronson is great as usually, a great scene where gangsters bust his hands is a standout.
Kid Galahad is a great film.
What a shame Elvis didn't get more of this kind of thing - instead he got Harum Scarum (but we won't go into that). If you're an Elvis fan, then you will thoroughly enjoy this - if you're not then give it a try - you'll be pleasantly surprised.
