5.0 out of 5 stars Music to get you pumped? Buy this. 3 Dec 2008
Format:Audio CD
In short, this album is an absolute riot. In literally 5 minutes, half of the CD has passed you by leaving you with feathers in your hair.

Tip: Never listen to this on your headphones at work. People will think you're nuts when you're dancing on the table.

4.0 out of 5 stars kid dynamite 1976 12 Nov 2012
Format:Audio CD
This is just a quick review to help people avoid the obvious confusion thats been going off with this album. If you are looking at this and the album pictured is a judge dredd type character carrying an axe and shield then you are looking at the eponymous debut album from a band that was formed by two musicians from the Steve Miller Band [Gerald Johnson, who played Bass on Recall The Beginning Journey From Eden and The Joker and John King who played drums on The Joker] and was released in 1976 on the Cream record label. Its a mixture of Hard Rock with a funky soulful bluesy tinge thrown in and has nothing to do with the more recent Punk band of the same name.
Ironically 76 was the year Steve Miller went stratospheric with Fly Like An Eagle, If Johnson and King had hung around they might have shared in the success but they weren't to know that at the time. As far as i know this was the only album that this particular Kid Dynamite made unless anyone can tell me differently

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the greatest bands ever! 18 Sep 2004
By Brandon W. Phillips - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I love punk music, and when I first heard Kid Dynamite, I instantly became a fan, too bad they made very little music. But maybe that's what made them a legend. Check out None More Black and Lifetime for some bands that the members of Kid Dynamite have been part of.
4.0 out of 5 stars with fury! lyrics a cut above... 15 Sep 2000
By "browniep@hotmail.com" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
what an appropriate name for this band! emotion, fury, melody, thudding drums that are powerful enough to knock any fan on their backside. Jay's lyrics have a very personal quality to them, and subject matters stray from the proverbial h.c. content...unity, etc. I agree that some songs sound similar, but that's because Dan's guitar has a rather muddy setting, which makes some notes sound unclear. I dub KD the best h.c. band to take the scene by storm! its an utter shame they broke up, but I was lucky enough to catch them live. I found this album inspiring.
5.0 out of 5 stars The best hardcore punk band of the last decade 19 April 2003
By Todd - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This band is legendary.KD is straight up balls to the wall punk rock with some of the best drumming you will ever hear.Vocals are incredible. Most songs don't even break a minute and a half.I've had this album for two years and its in my cd player almost everyday.I just had the privelegde of witnessing KD's final reunion show on april 13th 2003.The craziest show i've ever been to!!!(even grey area played!!)The bands presence alone is just awsome.Anyway, songs to check out,"pause" "bookworm" and "shiner". The entire cd just kicks ass.
5.0 out of 5 stars A fast and fun hardcore influenced album 5 Aug 1999
By JPowellIWCS - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Kid dynamite does a great job on this record. Very good guitar and/or drum intros to a few songs, neat semi-scream/semi-sing vocals and tight drumming add up to an always great listen. Only flaw one might see with this is that the songs might tend to run together--if they cut out maybe 4 or 5 songs then this would be probably the best hardcore type album to come out in 98. But damn it they never play "Benchwarmer"! Buy this instead of their split with 88, its the same price but you get 19 songs with this release.
5.0 out of 5 stars Philly Punk Hardcore at its best 27 Jan 2004

There are no words to describe Kid Dynamite except for amazing. Jay's vocals are some of the best I have ever heard. Great guitar lines, fitting bass riffs, good drumlines and vocals that can't be beaten by anyone. Its too bad they only lasted for a few years. They're stage presence was amazing along with their music. One of the best bands ever to hit the punk industry and they are influences are still going through bands today. if you like kid dynamite you should definitely check out Jay's new band None More Black.
