First released in 1969 this album was years ahead of its time. From the blistering opening track Ramblin Rose to the esquisite Kick Out the Jams this album is a must for anyone with the slightest interest in 'Rock' music. Powerful, raw and rockin are just a few words which sum up a master piece of an album.

Don't buy anything else until this is in your collection. You won't be disppointed as the intensity of the music puts the 'new wave' gendre in the shade. Yes its raw but that's the beauty of the LP. It has n't been over produced and must rate as one of the best Live LP's of all time!!

This is where it all began: punk, hardcore, thrash, grunge: pretty much all 'heavy' music. What a phenomenal album. The sound is perfect: every lick is audible. From the Introduction by Brother J.C. Crawford to the last scream of feedback on 'Starship', this is forty or so minutes of pure rock and roll mayhem. The influence of this band is unbelieveable, spanning over thirty years, inspiring artists as different as The Dead Kennedy's and Jeff Buckley (checkout Live at L'Olympia by the latter for a truly rockin' version of 'Kick out the Jams').

This was the revolution. So f*ckin break the town till they bring you down, and rip this joint apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it wasn't for this band we wouldn't have Motorhead , The Damned and many other bands who have cited MC5 as influences. Their attitude to music and Life still shines through. Read more
