Review

"One of the most original illustrators at work today." Publishers Weekly on Chris Raschka"

Product Description

As Robert Frost once said, "Poetry without rules is like a tennis match without a net." In this splendid and playful volume, acclaimed poetry anthologist Paul Janeczko and Caldecott Honor illustrator Chris Raschka present lively examples of 29 poetic forms, illuminating not only the (sometimes bendable) rules of poetry, but also the spirit that brings these forms so wonderfully to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two words: Truly brilliant, 27 April 2009
Delightful and very clever. There are clever mnemonic devices for recalling the shape of poetic forms, but the book is not just educational - it is also entertaining, and complemented by beautiful montage pictures. It is presented as a child's book, but I can think of many adults who would exult in the ownership of this.
