Product Description

Product Description

Taking on a simple investigative job, Christian Westlake, a former police officer turned private detective, calls in a few favours and looks forward to the pay cheque. Trying to discover the whereabouts of a missing IT designer and some valuable industry information, he assumes he has to do no more than locate the missing person and bring in the data. But all is not as it seems and instead Westlake discovers a dark side to the newest technological advances so significant that their use could alter the very heart of society. He also discovers that some will go all the way to protect their developments and use them not always in everybody's best interests. He is a pawn in a much more dangerous game.

About the Author

Of English Italian heritage, Peter James light-heartedly describes the mix as being conservatively flamboyant with a logically chaotic frame of mind. Although contradictory, his analysis of himself becomes clearer when delving deeper into his life. Holding a full-time job in data management. he is also working on several writing projects, each at different stages of completion, and also designs and maintains websites for friends. Outside of a busy work and home life, as an avid motor-sport fan he can be found at various race tracks across the UK following the British Touring Car Championships. Also a great lover of cinema, Peter takes his inspiration from a plethora of British movies from past and present. The author praises the talent in both the British movie making industry and its writers making Britain, in his opinion, one of the best places for new and inspirational talent.

Excellent read 19 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback

I was receommended this book and to be honest it isn't my usual sort of read. Anything to do with computers would normally be a no no!!

However, having said that it had me hooked from the beginning, with an interesting story line, interesting characters that you cared about (which always helps I think) and the technical information was explained in a way that even I could understand.

I read the book very quicky, not wanting to put it down too often and it kept me absorbed right up to the twist at the end.

I recommend this book to anyway who enjoys a good book.
