Every now and then I have to travel for work and write a blog every evening for the company website as well as for colleagues. This year I decided to try taking my ipad, but don't like typing on the screen for several reasons - not least the loss of screen real estate. So after a bit of research I got this Keysonic keyboard. It's another thing to carry around, but for ease of use, precision of typing and cursor placement, this is an excellent tool. I wish it came with a travel cover, but apart from that it's not heavy and seems to be well put together. I didn't miss my laptop and the ipad/Keysonic combo worked well as it also has in use with my phone. Takes me back to my old Palm/ir keyboard set from 8 or 9 years ago. Progress, eh?

Although I do like tablets (iPad and iTouch) I do not think they are designed for intensive text input operations. So I decided to get a small keyboard for longer text input activities. A simple and relatively cheap solution which should work with any bluetooth tablet.

Potentially a really great keyboard: flat, small, with all functions integrated... if only they worked! The first thing to go was the trackball mouse on the top right so now I have to also use an additional mouse with it, the left mouse click function (top left) also stops working temporarily but as I am now having to use a mouse separately anyway... Another annoying thing is that every now and then different keys appear to get wedged, so I often find myself having to delete multiple aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa's or spaces, not ideal and especially frustrating when trying to write quick/urgent emails.

Beware! Flimsy, poorly made product!
Trackball broke within 2 months of purchase, takes too long to connect and keyboard is flimsy and not built to last :( Avoid!!
