I was looking for a replacement for my Sony HTPC keyboard - Sony were going to charge me £140 and this is the only wireless keyboard I could find that had the touchpad on the right-hand side which makes it more compact and more ergonomic (if you are right-handed). On the downside you will have trouble with the signal if you have any obstructions between the receiver and the keyboard - my computer is on the ground (1.5m away) and the 1cm wooden table made the signal unreliable - I had to use a USB extension cable so that the receiver was on the table. Other minor negatives: the touchpad is a small and doesn't support scrolling, the keys are recessed so the bottom row is a little bit more difficult to hit, the CTRL key is not in the best location and the return key is smaller than normal. You get 4 user defined keys at the top as well as media and volume control keys that work with windows media player and windows media center. Overall I'm happy with the keyboard once I resolved the RF signal problem.

unreliable 5 Nov 2008

for some reason it seems to miss some of the keypresses or keypad actions. almost as if the signal strength isn't high enough. colleague of mine has the same keyboard and feels the same. we also both have Keysonic Compact Wireless Keyboard with Integrated Touch Pad (2.4Ghz Radio Frequency, Notebook Layout) by keysonic as well, and find them much better. buy one of those instead.
