More About the Author

Ann Bryant trained at the Royal College of Music and began her writing career when her daughters were little. She has published over 110 books, of which about a quarter are music resources for primary school teachers. The rest are fiction books for children aged 3 - 12, including her latest popular series about six girls who board at Silver Spires School - 'School Friends'. Ann lives in Kent. When she's not writing she travels all over the UK giving author presentations in schools, and also leads music workshops for teachers. She says 'I'm often asked what you need to be an author - well, I think it boils down to imagination and discipline, or put another way, a telescope and a microscope, OR a heart and a head.'

Format: Paperback
This book is the first in a set of three piano tutors aimed at younger beginners. It takes them step by simple step from recognising the notes on the keyboard to recognising them on the printed page. The pages are colourful and well set out and the early tunes are just right to inspire confidence and yet maintain interest. It is a book which will be much appreciated by both child and teacher ( and at that price parent too!)

i have been using this beginners book since my own children were small! it has wonderful pictures inside to keep the children amused. More importantly it takes the younger child (3 upto 7) through very steady steps, ensuring they know what they are doing by the next page.It helps them to build confidence in themselves. It is beautifully & easily set out, which enables parents to help at home too. ive been teaching young children piano for over 20 years & i would definately rate it highly. It covers everything, including small sections of theory to back-up, that children will need to develop as young musicians.
