More About the Author

Ed is an author, editor, curriculum developer and CPD provider. He taught Science for twenty years and was a team leader for twelve.
He became a Science consultant in 2002 and has been Science Adviser in Cornwall since 2006. He trained as an Ofsted Inspector in 2008 and was seconded to the National Strategies for two years, as a Regional Adviser and then Senior Adviser for the South of England.
Ed has been involved with a number of publications, including being Series Editor for the Collins 21st Century Science GCSE and KS3 Science resources and consultant to the Rising Stars KS1 & 2 assessment materials.
He has developed and provided training for the Association for Science Education and the Science Learning Centres and presented at the Education Show and BETT. He is a Regional Development Lead for the Science Learning Centres and has turned "Bad Science" (the book) into good science (lessons). Ed and his wife have three children.

About the Author

Ed is the series editor for the Collins Key Stage Three Science and has written for or edited over thirty books. He was a teacher for twenty years, twelve of them as team leader, and has worked in Manchester, South Wales and Cornwall. He has worked for Cornwall Council since 2002 as Science consultant and adviser and was seconded to the National Strategies for two years as regional and then senior adviser in London and the South East.
Ed runs CPD sessions at various events including the ASE Annual Conference and provides support for classroom teachers of pupils from 5 to 18. He is also involved in development work on the next generation of GCSE courses, an integrated curriculum for primary schools, guidance materials for CLEAPSS and training on the use of iPads in science teaching.
Ed lives in Truro with his wife; he likes going to the theatre, photography and walking the coastal footpath. They have three children, who work in the creative industries.
