He travels many miles to research his paintings and spends countless hours sketching before committing the final composition to canvas.

The transfer of the print onto the metal is not as saturated color-wise as the pictures would have you believe. Instead of a deep blue sky for example it is clearly too light for my taste. The color of the steam engine is not as vibrant either. The scene itself is terrific with lots of detail just a pity about the color. Perhaps the picture is taken from the original photo used in the transfer process. In future I will be buying all such signs seen from gift shops even if it means paying a little more for them.
