My daughter received this two months ago for her 3rd birthday. At first I was sceptical as I watched her walk the bike along, but I followed advice to leave her alone, and sure enough, she was soon sitting on the seat and pushing herself along. A month later, I began to leave the buggy at home for the mile long walk to her brothers' school, and two months later I need my bike to keep up with her! She's flying along and her balance is amazing; she can lift both legs and coast down slopes without a bother. I'm sure the transition to a pedal bike will be seamless whenever she's big enough. I would recommend these bikes to anyone. We're lucky that there are plenty of safe cycle lanes separated from the road, and wide pavements near our house. My only reservation is that if you're going to be using it anywhere near traffic, make sure the child has a firm understanding of the importance of waiting for Mum or Dad at each kerb, because it's soon hard to keep up. The brake is a godsend, although I have to remind her to use it, as feet are preferred!
As for the colour...it is VERY pink! With two big brothers, my daughter will probably end up with lots of hand me down boys' bikes in the future, so we decided to indulge her, but the pale blue might have been a better choice for resale value etc.

I bought this bike for my daughter's 2nd birthday present and it's great. Easy to assemble, looks great, is very sturdy and even has a brake. The only bad thing is that, even on the lowest seat height, she's too small for it at present, but that just means we'll get our money's worth out of it and our older son can use it in the meantime. I'm hoping it'll help him move on from using stabilisers on his bike, as has happened when friends' kids have used balance bikes.

1 of my best buys. i bought it for my daughters 3rd birthday she loves it and has had hours of fun.she has an olders sister who is 6 and i tried everything 2 get her 2 ride a bike but she was having none of it, she had a go on this and i couldnt believe with the seat as high as it would go she got away with it (prob a little on the small side) but she has built up so much cofidence i dont think it will b long b4 shes off on a real bike. it is also really light if u have 2 carry it. it was super easy 2 build and overall just brilliant

Super value!
My daughter loves her Kettler balance bike. It is really well made and I'm so pleased I didn't buy one of the more expensive ones as this is just as good!
