I trained as a photographer, starting as a teenage rock photographer for the NME. I was always passionate about food, spending most of my income on it. I gradually found myself cooking professionally for various cafés and at festivals. In January 2009, a few months after starting this food blog, I launched one of the first UK supperclubs 'The Underground Restaurant' which was an immediate success.
My blog marmitelover.blogspot.com has been a place to chronicle my triumphs, struggles, lessons, setbacks and progress with my living room restaurant as well as a few recipes! I've been at the forefront of the underground food movement, encouraging and giving advice to others along with the group that I started Find a supper club, become a fan: a place to promote supperclub events. I've also started The Underground Farmers and Craft market at my house, where would-be food entrepeneurs and home cooks can sell their produce and other supperclub hosts can demonstrate their cooking.
I'm a mother of a 17 year old girl known as The Teen. I often write about her on this blog: http://travelswithmyteenager.blogspot.com/
Yes I do really like Marmite and eat it everyday.

Harper Collins have just published my first book: Supper Club: recipes and notes from The Underground Restaurant. I think it's quite different from most cookbooks. It's got a story too. People read it in one sitting. All the recipes work. I know, I tested them all. I'm not on TV yet. Maybe I will be one day.
