Obviously calling it "Kerrang Vol. 5" would show this up for the cynical cash-in that it is, especially since Vol. 4 was released last month. Anyway, it's full of all the usual nu-metal bands that will be forgotten by next week as well as some "classic" rock songs (i.e, "we ran out of songs to put on, stick some old ones on there"), including Give It Away, which is possibly the most overplayed RHCP song ever. The only good thing I can think of about this album is that it has Soundgarden on it, so perhaps people will finally realise that Puddle Of Mudd, Staind et.al are all simply cheap copies of bands like Soundgarden and Alice In Chains without all the things that made those bands good. However, every song on this album is one that you would surely own anyway if you liked the band who did it. Leave this to people who need to be told what music to listen to and spend the money on a proper album instead.
