Great discoveries!,

I pick up the magazine from time to time and I see bands in there and I think, 'Well, what would be a good song of theirs to download from iTunes? Will that help me find some good new bands?', but generally I just leave it. I bought this CD today, admittedly not from Amazon, but still. This album has some great songs from more established bands e.g. Slipknot and Green Day, but also has some up-and-coming bands like Black Tide and Slaves To Gravity. This is a great mixture of songs and I highly recommend it to those people who like rock/metal/indie/emo music! Happy listenings!

"Various Artists" CDs are often hit & miss & miss & miss... Enough known artists / tracks to get the punter to buy, padded with rubbish in between.
This one bucks the trend I reckon. Here are some of the reasons why: A cracking load of stuff I'd not heard before - I've since really got into Airbourne, Black Tide, and Pendulum, and it's always good to hear some Enter Shikari. Killswitch's 'Holy Diver' is laugh out loud funny if like me you cut your rock teeth on Dio etc. While I'm not a huge fan of thrash or emo I'm ok with most of the tracks here. What's wrong: American Idiot in a 2008 compilation? I don't think so. Still a good track though. Not much else wrong here, except Kid Rock. There is absolutely no excuse for including this tosh! [Amazon seem to have the track listing in the wrong order - mine matches the one shown on Play]
