After many years of buying 'jug' style kettles, the traditional looks of the kmix make a very pleasant change. It's one of the best looking kettles I've come across, and for the most part I'd say it's also the best made kettle I've owned, with a metal body and base and high quality plastic on the handle and lid centre. The only exception is a slightly fragile feeling on/off button.
The 1.25 litre capacity is more than adequate for my needs, and the large easy-fill spout makes filling a breeze, as well as saving wear and tear on the lid. The mesh scale guard within is easy to remove for cleaning. Reasonably quiet, and reasonably fast to boil, the kmix has a nicely balanced feel making it simple to pour. The handle is comfortable, and stays cool to the touch.
I'd give it five stars for looks alone, I can't picture a kitchen modern or traditional that this kettle wouldn't fit into, but I've knocked a star off for the flimsy feeling power button. In fairness, this is relative to the otherwise superb build quality. One other slight issue is the water level indicator - the size and shape of the kettle means this is much smaller than jug kettles, so therefore not so accurate. It's also placed quite low down at the rear of the kettle rather than the side which can make it a little difficult to read while filling.
Overall, a very nice kettle and one I'd recommend.
One final point - another reviewer stated that the light on their on/off button was blue. Mine is orange. Just thought I'd mention that!
