What makes the Kenwood Chef range so special?

Kenwood has been constantly working to make improvements to an already extremely functional machine. The range has been refined so that the benefits are clear at each stage. More power has been added to each model in the range, so that they now start at 800 W for the Chef Classic and reach 1400 W for the Chef Titanium, making Kenwood kitchen machines the most powerful on the market.

Improvements to the internal workings of the machine have enabled enhanced performance and reduced noise when compared with most other kitchen machines.
Planetary Mixing Action Planetary Mixing Action
A test of good performance is how well the ingredients are mixed in the bowl. While most beaters rotate in a circular motion, the Kenwood bowl tools move in a planetary way. This means that, while the beater is revolving in one direction, the socket turns in the opposite direction, making sure all the mixture is picked up from around the bowl, resulting in perfect and thorough mixing.

Bowl Tools

All models are supplied with three dishwasher safe mixing tools for specific baking tasks. These tools are made of cast stainless steel and also supplied is the unique Flexi Beater, with its flexible rubber edge.

K Beater K Beater
The K Beater has been designed to increase efficiency and reduce beating time. It is especially good for mixing traditional fruit cakes, chocolate cakes, pastry and biscuits.
Whisk Whisk
The balloon shape of the whisk is perfect for creating maximum volume. It mixes a lot of air into the mixture to give a light fluffy texture – perfect for mousses, soufflés, meringues and cheesecakes.
Dough Hook Dough Hook
The dough hook takes all the hard work out of kneading bread. It mixes and kneads quickly and effortlessly, making the most perfect smooth and elastic dough for a variety of breads and pastries.
Flexi Beater Flexi Beater
Unique to Kenwood, the flexible shape of the tool fits the profile of the Kenwood bowl perfectly, ensuring that all soft mixtures are mixed to perfection.

Power Outlets

The KMC560 has three power outlets. Each outlet is optimised for a range of dedicated food preparation tasks.

Slow Speed Power Outlet: Positioned behind a removable front cover, this outlet provides the perfect balance of slow speed and high torque to drive specialised attachments, such as the Multi Food Grinder and the Pasta Roller.

High Speed Power Outlet: This outlet, situated at the top back of the machine, allows for a variety of attachments to be used, such as the Liquidiser and Multi-Mill.

Bowl Outlet: In addition to the three inclusive mixing tools, further attachments are available for use with this outlet, such as the Ice Cream Maker attachment.

Tailor your Kenwood Chef to suit your specific needs

In order to meet various culinary needs, Kenwood has developed an extensive range of attachments to enhance the capabilities of your Kenwood Chef. Kenwood’s attachment range can adapt to any food preparation requirement with remarkable precision, giving you professional results every time.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic 28 Nov 2008
    By Scout
I have recently purchased this machine. Have made lots of cakes and dough and can now make lovely home made bread without getting my hands all sticky and the kitchen covered in flour! Pastry and cakes are lovely and so easy. Great making pizza dough and they taste so much better than the frozen pizzas and you know what has gone in to your food! Mash potato and carrot and turnip all come out lovely and mashed! Looked at buying the patissieur as didn't really want all the additions other than the basic machine but it was too tall for my kitchen, this machine is smaller and fits in great. I am really pleased with my purchase and recommend this machine to anyone.

    5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!!!! 8 May 2009
I have looked at Kenwood Chefs for a long time but never bought one because they were a) too big for my kitchen and b) WAY too expensive. In March this year I had my kitchen updated...thus the space - and in April Amazon had a "Deal of the Week" on this Kenwood Chef - well it was just meant to be. Since it arrived (within 24 hours of ordering - and that was with free Supersaver delivery) I have used it almost every day. I bake cakes which are turning out just perfect mixed in the Kenwood Chef -the splashguard is great when adding flour and icing sugar. Makes excellent pastry and shortbread too. I love the fact that you can put the ingredients in, switch it on and leave it for a minute or two to get on with its job - previously I used a handheld beater. I hardly know myself! I have also started baking bread - due only to the fact that a Dough Hook came with the machine - yummy!! And the liquidiser I have been using for fruit smoothies every evening. I would rate this machine as 10/10 - I am delighted with it. I want an ice cream maker attachment for it now - although I think I may have to buy some willpower as well!

After being disappointed by a Kenwood Multipro, which seemed to start falling apart as soon as I got it out of the box, I had decided to bite the bullet, spend a bit more and get the real thing.
The price for this machine is excellent and the difference in build quality and performance between this and smaller food processors is enormous. In the silver the machine also looks contemporary enough and is proof that good classic design doesn't date.
I got the high speed shredder/slicer attachment and was expecting it to perform like the multipro did as the dics look the same - wrong! I couldn't believe the chopping speed. Overall I'm thrilled, I always wanted one and the prices now make them the perfect buy in my opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kenwood Chef Premier Mixer 14 Mar 2009
    Verified Purchase
A very good mixer that seems to do all the jobs required of it without any problems. It's sturdy and appears well built in line with what is expected of the Kenwood brand. Powerful motor that doesn't seem to baulk at any mixing jobs. It comes well equipped with 3 mixing beaters and the splash guard is particularly useful in stopping the inevitable. A glass liquidiser is also supplied which is a bonus in this price bracket.
If I had to offer any negatives it would be that the machine is noisier than expected and the satin silver finish does show up the finger marks.
Summing up I would thoroughly recommend the machine in the cost range in which it sits and only recommend going for a more expensive model, if the third power take off point was a must for operating a food processor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kenwood Chef 24 Nov 2010
    By Ollivia
I wanted a Kenwood Chef but having only ever used a Processor which had passed it's sell by date, I took a long time to choose. I was a bit apprehensive about buying the Chef, but having read all the reviews, good and bad, I pressed the 'buy' button. The Kenwood arrived and the liquidiser was cracked. I telephoned Kenwood. No Problem they said, we will send you a new one! That duly arrived the following day. All I can say is, I have never looked back. The KMC560 does not disappoint, although it took a little while to get used to the difference of a beater instead of the blade of a processor, this was easily overcome by using the recipe book's instructions. Sponge cakes turn out light as a feather and everything I have used it for has been a success. I am no WunderChef, just an ordinary person who loves to cook, so I am not claiming to cook miracle foods; just enjoyable tasty food. The only criticism is the splash guard - it does not fit easily onto it's home and scratches the finish where I have tried to place it into position. However, this is a minor fault and as a whole I would absolutely recommend it. I love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great machine 30 Mar 2009
Replacement for very old food mixer - quite large so had to re-organise the kitchen a bit. Worth it, though. Had to buy the grater attachment which was supplied with the old machine. This makes it an expensive purchase. Have made pastry and cake, so far, with good results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic mixer 23 Nov 2011
    By Gaz
This mixer is brilliant and at a price that can't be beat. I make cakes as a part time endeavor. I used to use a handheld mixer to bske with but they kept on breaking on me. My wife said 'why not buy a proper mixer' but i knew they were expensive. I originally bought a Kenwood mixer from Argos that was advertised as 1100w thinking this would be great. Got it home to discover it was only 650w and could barely manage the mix for a 8" madeira sponge. Not good enough for someone wanting a large birthday cake. I took it back and decided to give Amazon a look. So glad i did, this machine is sturdy and well built, not like the plastic smaller machine, this one is metal. The bowl is deep enough to mix a large amount of batter and the 1000w motor is enough to mix a large 10" or 11" cake in one go. It's not as loud as i thought it was going to be either which is a bonus. The only downside is that it is quite difficult to clean the housing that the mixing blades sit in, nothing a cocktail stick cannot fix!
If you want a mixer but don't want to break the bank then this is the mixer for you. It even comes with a liquidizer and a flexi beater which is fantastic as it scrapes the bowls sides as it mixes.
