What makes the Kenwood Chef range so special?

Kenwood has been constantly working to make improvements to an already extremely functional machine. The range has been refined so that the benefits are clear at each stage. More power has been added to each model in the range, so that they now start at 800 W for the Chef Classic and reach 1400 W for the Chef Titanium, making Kenwood kitchen machines the most powerful on the market.

Improvements to the internal workings of the machine have enabled enhanced performance and reduced noise when compared with most other kitchen machines.
Planetary Mixing Action Planetary Mixing Action

A test of good performance is how well the ingredients are mixed in the bowl. While most beaters rotate in a circular motion, the Kenwood bowl tools move in a planetary way. This means that, while the beater is revolving in one direction, the socket turns in the opposite direction, making sure all the mixture is picked up from around the bowl, resulting in perfect and thorough mixing.

Bowl Tools

All models are supplied with three dishwasher safe mixing tools for specific baking tasks. These tools are made of cast stainless steel and also supplied is the unique Flexi Beater, with its flexible rubber edge.

K Beater K Beater
The K Beater has been designed to increase efficiency and reduce beating time. It is especially good for mixing traditional fruit cakes, chocolate cakes, pastry and biscuits.
Whisk Whisk
The balloon shape of the whisk is perfect for creating maximum volume. It mixes a lot of air into the mixture to give a light fluffy texture – perfect for mousses, soufflés, meringues and cheesecakes.
Dough Hook Dough Hook
The dough hook takes all the hard work out of kneading bread. It mixes and kneads quickly and effortlessly, making the most perfect smooth and elastic dough for a variety of breads and pastries.
Flexi Beater Flexi Beater
Unique to Kenwood, the flexible shape of the tool fits the profile of the Kenwood bowl perfectly, ensuring that all soft mixtures are mixed to perfection.

Power Outlets

The KM023 has four power outlets. Each outlet is optimised for a range of dedicated food preparation tasks.

Slow Speed Power Outlet: Positioned behind a removable front cover, this outlet provides the perfect balance of slow speed and high torque to drive specialised attachments, such as the Multi Food Grinder and the Pasta Roller.

Medium Speed Power Outlet: Positioned in the centre at the top of the machine, this is totally unique to the Titanium range of Chef and Major models, giving further versatility for the food processor attachment to be used.

High Speed Power Outlet: This outlet, situated at the top back of the machine, allows for a variety of attachments to be used, such as the Liquidiser and Multi-Mill.

Bowl Outlet: In addition to the three inclusive mixing tools, further attachments are available for use with this outlet, such as the Ice Cream Maker attachment.

I've wanted a good Kenwood for many years. Having finally got the readies together, I searched for the best deal and plumped for this one. The additional attachments effectively give you a complete set of food processing equipment in one go. It's certainly a great choice for the serious cook. Each component does exactly what it is meant to do. The materials have a real feel of quality about them and so far they are standing up to the punishment I'm giving them. I'm finally able to produce the food I've always been able to do, but so much more easily and quickly. If you hate washing up, don't bother; it takes a bit of time to clean things after use. If you only make special things once in a blue moon, do it by hand. However, if you really love to prepare and cook good food, scrimp and save for this, you will not be disappointed; even if you do have to personalise some of the tools for use(the blades will need altering slightly which is really simple to do).

    BUY! :-)

This is a very solidly built machine. Metal parts that probably result that my grand children will be using the maschine. Powerful engine. Large bowl. My only dislike about the product is that if you do small doughs like a "pre dough" when making sourbread it does not mix the dough well because of the small size and the large bowl. I have adjusted mixer so that it goes to the bottom but it does not go as close as needed to mix all the dough on the sides of the bowl. If you have a larger dough this is of course not a problem. The other minor thing is the placement of the electrical cord very close to the bottom of the machine so very easily the wire ends up between the maschine and the surface it stands on and since the maschine is heavy in the end the wire might be damaged if you are not careful and makes sure it does not get squeezed. I would have expected that the dough mixing on small doughs where better so this is a disappointment but my previous Braun Multimixer machine had the same problem...

I own several appliances like a glass blender, a spice mill, and electric beater... but I was looking to buy a food processor, meat grinder, and a more powerful mixer. I was initially considering buying a Kitchen Aid (because this is the brand you see in most cookery shows, which kind of gives the false impression that it is the leading brand) but the sales man made such a convincing case for buying this item as opposed to the Kitchen Aid (which they also used to stock).

First of all, the Major has a whopping 1,500W motor! That is first and foremost selling point for me as I do a lot of home bread baking and therefore instead of having to knead a piece of dough for ten minutes straight (not as easy as it sounds and that also restricts you to having to work with small sized batches of dough) I simply chuck everything into the machine and leave it to do the rest! You can either use the kneading hook (which I find is better with larger batches of dough) or the K-beater for smaller batches. The Kitchen Aid not only has a less powerful motor, but a bigger price tag, so at this point the choice for me became obvious.
Second, the mixing bowl capacity is huge! 6.7 litres! You don't realize how much that is until you use it. I used to bake a ½ kilo of baguette dough and that was about as much my hand mixer's bowl could handle, but now it looks like a tiny lump of dough at the bottom of that massively deep bowl! I can easily mix five times that quantity in one batch!

Third, the machine comes with four attachment heads which basically cover any possible requirement. My wife used to have some trouble with the hand mixer preparing some cake batters as some of them are rather stiff and the mixer couldn't keep up.

This was a replacement for my old Major which I had had for 38 years and which had been in continuous use.It was still running and has gone to another good home!!
I would not have even considered any other make of machine and I am absolutely delighted with the new one. It runs a lot quieter than the old one and does everything I ask of it. The food processor attachment is great and I have got rid of my old free standing one making more room on the worktop. My Major lives on the worktop ready for immediate use and has never been hidden away in a cupboard.
I cannot reccomend this machine more highly.

Bought this after much deliberation, reading of reviews etc on the Titanium chef or major, finally went with this as it was a super bargain price that I couldn't turn down :) My only regret is that I didn't buy one years ago in just a little over a week I have baked, minced, made icecream, in fact I do bake etc normally and have a Magimix food processor, but this machine makes it such a pleasure it's hard to resist the urge to plug it in and whip something up! I feel so much more involved than with the food processor, although I love my Magi too. Next week I am going to make sausages, pasta and try a sorbet - and visit the gym otherwise I'm sure my waistline is in danger.

The machine itself is well made solid and sturdy, no sharp edges huge stainless steel bowl, which worried me a little during the deliberation stage however I have successfully whisked 3 egg whites with no problem.
I would like to thank the lady who advised that the Chef bowl also fitted if you remove the rubber pad, (that lies beneath the bowl) so for tiny amounts this may prove a good idea, however you can't then use the splash guard.
The stainless steel whisk, beaters and dough hook are huge and mean business, except for the incredibly tight whisk nut, adjusting them to use with the smaller chef bowl is simple and takes a few seconds.

It is heavy but is such a thing of beauty that I want it out on the bench anyway. I did find the Whisk almost impossible to adjust the nut was on super tight, the flexibeater adjusted fine. All in all I am one happy lady, the rest of the family are very happy too. Making the Christmas cake will be a breeze.
