Convenient pour through lid allows the jug to be filled without removing the lid
Also activates LCD display which counts down for 150 to 0 (cartridge capacity is 150 litres) when it is time to change the cartridge
LCD display will also revert to zero after 4 weeks as the cartridge then needs changing
Supplied with one cartridge in the jug plus 12 (1 years supply) additional cartridges
Kenwood water filter cartridges reduce limescale which helps prolong the life of your kettle
They remove herbicides pesticides and heavy metals such as lead and copper
They also remove chlorine which improves the taste of tap water

I thought this was okay when I bought it, but after a few months, the filler mechanism becomes very stiff and the countdown timer broke. I ended up by chance using a Brita filter at a friends house and it was in such a differetn league - there's no fiddling with a switch to top it up as there's a genious device that opens when you pour water on it. Also unlike this one, you don't need to ensure it's half full (Kenwood advise that teh filter must not be left below half full so as to keep the element soaked). The build quality and looks of the Brita are far nicer too. If you're considering buying this I'd storngly advise a trip to B&Q or Robert Dyas to see them both in teh flesh as this was a complete waste of money.
