Product Description

kMix: When food preparation meets design

With its ergonomically designed body and controls conveniently placed at the front, the kMix stand mixer is not only stylish but easy to use. All attachments are used at the front of the machine, making them quick and easy to fit.

With a 5 Litre stainless steel bowl, 500 Watt power and planetary action, the kMix will work with large quantities perfectly. For delicate mixing, there is a unique fold function that mixes at an extra slow speed, allowing ingredients to be perfectly incorporated without losing air that is important for baking mixtures.

The kMix stand mixer brings together form and function, ensuring the most simple to the most indulgent recipe can be created. Choose from our traditional colours (Raspberry, Almond and Peppercorn) and make a statement in your kitchen with the kMix stand mixer and other matching kMix products in the range.

Alternatively choose from the new Amazon exclusive colour range (Candy, Maroon or Citrus), the coconut kMix or the new striped version of the kMix; the Barcelona, an exciting mix of colours, sure to stand out in any kitchen.

Kenwood kMix

Over 60 years on from the first Kenwood Chef launch, the designers at Kenwood decided to revamp and re-use the key design features of that original machine. They incorporated today's latest technologies and all their know-how in food preparation, and created the beautiful kMix stand mixer, a piece of art in the kitchen that embodies the Kenwood Chef values in a chic, stunning design.
 Planetary Mixing Action
Planetary Mixing Action

A test of good performance is how well the ingredients are mixed in the bowl. While most beaters rotate in a circular motion, the Kenwood bowl tools move in a planetary way. This means that, while the beater is revolving in one direction, the socket turns in the opposite direction, making sure all the mixture is picked up from around the bowl, resulting in perfect and thorough mixing.
Bowl Tools

The kMix stand mixer is supplied with three non-stick, dishwasher safe mixing tools for specific baking tasks.

KBeater K Beater
The angled fins of the K Beater reach every area of the bowl. Whether creaming cake mixtures, making pastry or gently stirring ingredients together, this is a very versatile tool.
Balloon whisk Balloon Whisk
The balloon whisk is perfect for creating foamy whipped mixtures. It is shaped to trap air easily while mixing, to create maximum volume while ingredients are being whisked.
Dough Hook Dough Hook
The dough hook perfectly combines ingredients to produce soft elastic dough. It carries out all the hard work for you during the kneading process.

Power Outlets

The kMix stand mixer has two power outlets:

Slow Speed Power Outlet: Positioned at the front behind a removable cover, this outlet provides the perfect balance of slow speed and high torque to drive specialised attachments, such as the Meat Grinder and Pasta Extruder.
Bowl Outlet: For use with the three included bowl tools.

    5.0 out of 5 stars The secret's out! 13 Sep 2010
Now I can also make super light cakes! A fab mixer, very easy to use;only used the K Beater attachment so far but results have been great! Bought the peppercorn colour which looks very smart on the worktop; extremely sturdy, am amazed at how quickly it beats the mixture; must be the 500w motor - a little bit noisy but as it mixes so quickly its not really an issue.
Definite value for money. Really pleased with purchase :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bye bye wooden spoon! 15 April 2010
    By TC
It's all Sophie Dahl's fault. I managed with a wooden spoon up to this point and then she comes along with her Artisan mixer which makes it all look so dreamy and easy. Well, the design of the Kitchen Aid just wasn't right for my modern kitchen so I resigned myself to the wooden spoon. Then I rounded the corner in a well-known partnership and saw The Kmix! Love at first sight! Except they only had it in the cream colour. (Almond) Also didn't go with the kitchen (These things ARE important.)So I popped onto Amazing Amazon and found that the black colourway was named after me so I had to have it! (It went with the kitchen too, oh, and was significantly cheaper.) It arrived yesterday and I spent all day playing. It's incredibly easy to use, does exactly what it says on the box, makes dough like a dream and the splashguard keeps it warm, mixes surprisingly small amounts of butter icing, does pastry in a flash and doesn't make too much noise or shuddering! If you are havering: don't! You won't regret this purchase and you will use it often, I guarantee. Oh, and it comes with a spatula, so bye bye wooden spoon!

5.0 out of 5 stars great purchase 5 Jan 2011
    By noralou
Received kmix food mixer a week ago. I started using it straight away. Great machine. Already made apple cake, queen cakes, scones and will be doing pastry soon.
Very easy to operate and simple to wash up bowl and accessories. I should have had one long ago but tried to make do with hand mixer, but there is no comparison. Also
the service from Amazon was excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rolls Royce of mixers 12 Jun 2010
This is by far the best mixer I have used!
It makes light work of anything you need to mix, from meringue through to dough.

It has a good powerful motor and a sturdy design with not so noisy motor (quieter than I thought it would be). Good 'metal' attachments (not flimsy plastic!), 'K' beater, dough hook & balloon whisk (I produced the best meringues ever with this), clear plastic food guard with hinged lid to add ingredients whilst mixer is on, a generous sized mixing bowl, spatchula & handy cord storage.

You can buy separate attachments which are fixed to a special port at the front if the mixer and these are, Roto Food Cutter and Fruit Press, Roto Food Cutter, Short Pasta Maker, Multi Food Grinder, Flat Pasta Roller, Tagliatelle Pasta Cutter, Trenette Pasta Cutter, Tagliolini Pasta Cutter & Spaghetti Pasta Cutter.

This looks great on your worktop and also comes in colours, Coconut (white), Raspberry (red), Peppercorn (black), Almond (cream) & Cocoa (maroon).

This mixer is designed to have a 'place' on your worktop as it could be too heavy for some to keep lifting in & out of cupboards. In my humble opinion, why hide it away in a cupboard, it looks great!

    5.0 out of 5 stars Kenwood kMix KMX54 (Peppercorn) 24 April 2010
    Amazon Verified Purchase
Decisions, Decisions! Which one should I choose the KitchenAid or the Kenwood KMIX? I am so pleased that I chose the KMIX. This is a seriously good looking machine, and is a lot quieter than I thought it would be.
In my opinion the Kenwood KMiX is the cat's whisker and cat's pyjamas rolled into one, it really has the WOW factor for me!! I'm so impressed! My cakes are light and fluffy and taste oh soooo good ' ; I will have to watch my waistline with this one!!

    5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic. 10 Jun 2011
    By Jules
Debated over the Kenwood Classic Chef, The Kitchen Aid and the Kmix. Decided to go with the KMix and am absolutely delighted with my purchase. Really pleased with its performance. The K-beater did a super job of making scones; rubbing the butter into the flour effortlessly(normally so time consuming by hand when making a couple of dozen). The dough hook worked great for kneading the same mix.

It also worked a treat at making lovely fluffy Queen Cakes.

The dough hook worked wonders on making bread (with yeast).

I had no problems with any mixture being left at the bottom and was well impressed by how quiet this powerful machine actually was. I was expecting it to be really noisy, but it was no worse than my hand held mixer. It stuck rigidly to my worktop, even when in full swing making bread dough it didn't move at all.
Another plus that the kmix has over the Kitchen Aid and the Kenwood chef is it included a splashguard. There is no fear of flour going everywhere when using higher speeds when the guard is on. Furthermore, the automatic gradual build up of speed by the Kmix itself is also a great feature.

The Kmix is now proudly sitting out on my worktop, it really looks the part and I feel like a great baker with it!! It is a solid heavy machine that I wouldn't like to be lifting in and out of a press all the time (although manageable if you had to, but not ideal). I'm just thrilled with my purchase and glad I went for the Kmix(500w), which seemed to have a more powerful motor than the kitchen aid(300w). Amazon also ensured I got it a day earlier than expected another bonus. I'm a really satisfied consumer (of lovely bread, cakes and scones so far!!!). I'm purely delighted with my KMix.
