I actually bough this subwoofer to be hooked up to an amp in the house, and it is fitted in a home-made ported box. To people who want to max their subwoofers, i suggest you break it in for a while before, as it is quite big, the spider is pretty stiff when it comes (no innuendo's intended.) Fitted nicely in the box, and gives a very clean sound, not the loudest of all 12" but has good quality in it. Also is the cheapest subwoofer i could find on Amazon, 31 quid, and free delivery on such a large speaker. Very pleased and will recommend to anyone
