I've had this Kenwood for a year or so and use it regularly for those little blending jobs, including: making soup (blending some of the chunky bits of veg in the pan), mixing ingredients for backing, making smoothies, even frothing up eggs for a fluffy omelette (I tried mashing potatoes but that was a bit too much for it). It is robust, neat and small enough to hang on the hook provided, on the rail alongside our other implements (serving spoons, etc.).

This is a smashing little gadget for the casual home-cook. Left-over veg and the stock they were cooked in can be whizzed up into a vegetable soup in seconds, (OK, yes, you need to tweak the ingredients a bit, but this isn't a recipe book). My wife made three snacks out of the soup I made this way, when previously the leftovers would have gone in the bin. Just remember not to take it out of the pan whilst still running (as I did), thereby instantly re-painting the kitchen (and myself) in a style that Monet would have been proud of!

I was a little dubious as to whether or not this blender would do the job I wanted it to. In particular would it be powerful enough to blend soup? I am more than pleased because for such a small blender it blends soup and other things easily and quickly. I consider it money well spent.

Good functional purchase
This blender does the job of blending soup well. It takes marginally longer to smooth lumps out than my previous blender, but taking the price into account, I'd say go for it!!

Does the job
