Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Kenwood Multipro FP735 Food Processor offers the functionality of its patented space saving design that will suit any size or shape of kitchen. This model features increased capabilities for the more experienced or more frequent user.

The Multipro concept is unique to Kenwood. The dual drive system allows one compact base for all functions. The footprint is up to 30% smaller than a traditional style food processor and the main processing bowl, liquidiser and mill attachments are used on the same base unit.

The FP730 has a generous 3 litre bowl (which has a 1.5 litre working volume) and a 1.5 litre liquidiser, along with a variable speed pulse. This food processor also comes with a range of attachments including a centrifugal juicer, a citrus press, a multi mill, shredding disks, chopping blades, a dough tool and a metal twin geared whisk.

Other key features include dish washer safe parts for easy cleaning, integral cord storage, the safety interlock system and the maxi blend canopy, which increases the working capacity of the bowl and prevents spillage.

2.0 out of 5 stars To buy or not to buy - I say choose carefully before you do, 19 Feb 2008
By matt (England) - See all my reviews
I purchased this item a few months ago. The quality is pretty average. After having it for a week, I dropped the main bowl a few inches onto the kitchen surface and the plastic flange which slots into the base unit chipped off. Although it still worked, I did not expect that to happen so easily.

I agree with the other comments that the storage unit is pretty much useless. I found that the shredding discs do not fit greatly with the bowl and gave average results. Furthermore, I was creaming some butter and sugar when one of the whisks simply snapped off leaving the plastic base stuck in the mechanism. You are better off using a cheap electric whisk (£4-5) or hand whisk to do the job properly. As this is clearly not the cheapest food processor on the market I would not purchase it again. I would either spend a bit more on something designed to last or much less as I do not believe that this food processor will be with me more than a couple of years. In my view the quality is fairly average and I have been overall, rather disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price and range of attachments, 12 Oct 2007
By A. Harvey "product designer" (London) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I spent quite a bit of time wondering whether I should just get a cheap processor or whether to go all the way and get a Magimix. In the end after looking for something that had a large bowl AND a blender AND a mill AND where all the attachments are operated from one base unit, this was the only one which fit the bill.
My budget was about £120, so I was happy to get this for £85.
Pluses: works very well, easy enough to clean, loads of attachments (more than i know what to do with), base unit easy to store
Minuses: Build quality of the base unit is a bit plasticky
All in all I'm quite pleased with it, it's not quite Magimix standard, but at that price and for the extras, who's complaining!

1.0 out of 5 stars So many reasons NOT to buy this product..., 8 Feb 2009
By Lisa Schipper (Bangkok, Thailand) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I spent ages researching food processors before I finally bought one. I live in Bangkok, so I have limited options, but I did really try to research all of the available possibilities. This just seemed like the best machine because it got good reviews and was in a good price range. However, I will never buy something like this without testing it again! There are so many reasons why I curse every time I use this food processor, including:

    1. The large bowl has a system whereby you connect the blade to a removable 'base pole' that goes into the base before you put the bowl on. When you have shredded/mixed/whatever something in the bowl, and you want to spoon it out, you would normally remove the blade so that you don't damage your spoon, and can access everything...but if you do that with this machine, you end up with an enormous hole in the middle of the bowl, through which your food naturally will fall - this is especially irritating when you have something more liquid in the bowl.

    2. The blade does not go down to the bottom, nor does it go far enough to the edges. I have NEVER, EVER been able to mix anything in this machine without having to scrape down the sides and remix by hand every few seconds. Normally the blade just spins and the stuff just sits there - not moving anywhere. This is probably what drives me the most nuts about this machine.

    3. The large bowl cannot hold any liquid - so don't even try to mix a soup in it (use the blender for that instead).

4....many other small things that add up but are too difficult to explain in words only.

In short, I recommend looking for another food processor, if you can!
