    Although I am usually a fan of Kenwood kitchen appliances, this one left me disappointed.

    I have always used Kenwood kitchen appliances, the larger, stronger models of food processors but as I now live in a small flat, I wanted a product that wouldn't take up so much space. Enter the Kenwood FP225 Food Processor - the smaller, more compact processor for today's modern flat kitchens.

    The problem I've had is with the liquidiser, the bowl itself is fine and works very well.

    I was blending soup in batches and as I started to twist the jug off the processor to pour the soup back into the saucepan, the seal around the blade on the jug (that holds the blade in place) came off and as I lifted the jug, the blade stayed attached to the food processor motor and soup went everywhere!

    Having contacted Kenwood they say that is clearly states in the manual that you must hold the food processor and jug at the same time as twisting (how many hands do they have!?) to prevent this from happening but having inspected my manual all I can find is "Leaking will occur if the seal is damaged or not fitted correctly". Kenwood claim it is a common problem but I'm afraid that it has put me off using the jug (my partner managed to mend the seal around the blade) and now I simply use the bowl.

    Not recommended. Stick to the older, chunkier (dare I say it, more reliable) food processor versions.
