I first purchased and installed a Pioneer Avic unit. It was so bad I got the company to take it out and install the Kenwood 9280bt. And what a brilliant unit it is. It has a reverse tilt screen that can be removed for security. The screen is also much brighter and clearer. The Bluetooth works perfectly with my iPhone 4. You just pair the 2 and either use the hands-free or audio functionsKenwood DNX-9260BT 5.1 Surround Sound Multimedia Unit You can also connect a USB stick, iPod/iPhone, insert CD for further music playback, plus play a DVD movie.

The 9280 has voice commands too and I have found this to work very well. You just press the dedicated exterior button a speak View Map, Bluetooth Audio, iPod, CD, Tuner to name but a few speech commands and it switches to them.

I also had the rear camera installed and this is just amazing. You touch the screen on the right and it will scroll through normal, zoom, overhead, combination split screens views etc. Tap on the left and you have a useful reversing guide.

Yes this unit was almost double the cost of the Pioneer, but with the inferior mapping, tiny on screen buttons (Way too hard to use while driving), plus the voice commands, better screen. It was money well spent.

I purchased and had mine installed by CarAudioSecurity who sell on Amazon. Very professional installation.

Great Product 31 Oct 2011

I've had this system for a few weeks now and really like it. There are more inputs into this system than I will probably ever use. But I like the option of having them there should I ever want to use them. I will say, the only thing that kept me from giving this product 5 stars, is the fact is has a slow user interface. Kenwood released a new firmware version (v1.3.0 at the time of this review) that was supposed to fix some reported issues. I saw a minor improvement, but not much. But, don't let a slow interface deter you. I only notice the lag because I'm a tech nerd and I've owned other stereo systems (Pioneer AVIC-F90BT) to compare with. I liked my Pioneer stereo, but this system blew Pioneer out of the water.

The maps on the system are great because they are Garmin. In fact, Kenwood is the only aftermarket audio stereo system that has Garmin maps. This stereo is also the only one on the market that can interface with your vehicle's computer to provide diagnostics of your engine. Kenwood & Garmin take advantage of your vehicle's OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics) port via a bluetooth module, ecoRoute. It can track your vehicle's fuel performance so you know how much fuel you are consuming.

This stereo also has built-in traffic receiver. So if you have heavy traffic along your GPS route, your system will try to find alternate routes to avoid the traffic!

To add to this great product, is a great forum. KenwoodForums.com is loaded with very knowledgeable people that can help those novice installers and experienced moders troubleshoot any problems you may incur.

Buyer be ware ! 8 Feb 2012

I had very very I hopes for this unit and as money was not an object for my vacation truck I purchased this unit despite the heavy price tag. Unfortunetly, when I recieved this item from the seller online it was defective and not working properly. I was smart enouph to read the reviews but not smart enouph to listen so I guess leason learned. The problem with my unit was that it would shut off randomely out of the blue and restart itself as if it were trying to reset. I understand that things happen and nothing is perfect but this is ware the warning comes in. I tried contacting Kenwood to resolve this issue and not only did they brush me off and tell me they could not help or change this brand new item but had an attitude about it like I was bothering them. Thank god Amazon changed it out for me (Excellent Company that back up there customers by the way) despite my 30 day experation. I will never ever purchase another kenwood again. I will also tell everyone I know about my experience.

Great nav system but poor hands free 3 Nov 2011
By Charlottes Web - Published on Amazon.com
This system is really great concerning the navigation option and radio performance. The options for Pandora Blue tooth and other features are top notch but the hands free when trying to make a call when driving has been totally over thought. My cheap little Motorola devise worked 10 times better. It is actually dangerous trying to make a call because you have to keep looking at the screen to eventually pick out the number that you want to call then it almost never recognizes your speach to actually make the call and you then have to press the call button to dial the number. When you hit the dial button it never dials the number on the first try so you need to repeatedly press the button to make the call. The entire process of trying to make a hands free call is slow and painstakingly long. On the other hand receiving a call is great. This works well and the sound is great. I try to avoid making calls because of the lenghty and poorly thought out process to get to a number that you need dial. Hopefully someone at Kenwood will actually try to use this feature and see how dangerous it is and then try to fine tune that feature.
