I recently bought the Kenwood BM300 from Amazon, depite my husband saying he would not eat any because I could not better our local bakery. I worked out my own recipe with a blend of white, granary and spelt flours, the result was brilliant and even my hubby has reluctantly agreed it is great bread.
Unfortunately after a few weeks it developed an electrical fault and cut out part way through the bake. I rang Kenwood customer services who could not have been more helpful. As I could not get to a dealer they sent me a pre-paid courier lable so I could return it. A week later they sent me a new machine. So now I am enjoying great bread again. My friends who try the bread all want to get one, some of theirs seem to make very "cakey" bread but I am really pleased with my results. My husband only likes bread with a really crispy crust and he thought that I would not be able to achieve that, but putting the BM300 on a dark crust setting, and removing the bread as as soon as it is cooked, gives a crispy crust. If you leave it in the machine to remove later the condensation will soften it a little.
The recipe book provided has some really useful information on how to vary the ingredients to get different textures of bread as well.
