Product Description

Product Description

Making everyday bread couldn’t be easier. Simply add the ingredients, select the programme and prepare for the delight of home-baked bread.

Select from 12 different programmes and bake bread to suit your tastes and needs. From simple daily breads to something very special, the results are always good. The BM250 is perfect for both sweet and savoury loaves. Bake white, wholewheat, French, gluten free and packet mixes or satisfy your sweet tooth making jams, cakes and sweet loaves.

The amazing dough setting allows dough to be prepared ready for shaping and oven baking. Or make a tea-time treat using the pasta dough setting. All the family will love the taste of fresh pasta and it's so easy to do, even the littlest of hands can help.

Create the bread that’s right for you with the option of a 500 g, 750 g or 1 kg loaf. It’s easy to adjust the crust colour too, with your choice of light, medium and dark. And, for those occasions when you want fresh bread quickly, the BM250 has a rapid bake option for everyday white bread in just 58 minutes.

With the 15-hour delay timer, your bread can be ready whenever you want it. Simply add the ingredients, set the timer and fresh bread will be waiting just when you need it the most. And if you can’t be there just as your bread is finished, this clever bread maker will automatically turn itself to the handy keep warm function. For up to an hour, your bread will stay hot, ready and waiting for you. With an in-built eight-minute power interruption setting, accidental unplugging or a brief power outage won’t ruin your bread.

The white lid of this bread maker has a large viewing window, allowing you to see your bread as it progresses. The clear LCD screen shows you exactly which stage your bread is at and allows easy programming of the machine. Push buttons on the control panel are clearly marked and highlighted with stylish chrome detailing.

Also included in the pack are a recipe book with plenty of ideas to help you make the most of your machine, a measuring cup and a measuring spoon. Everyone knows the trick to great bread is in the ingredients, and we want to make preparing your bread as easy as baking it.

I've had this machine just less than a week but already love it. First was the pleasant surprise of how compact it is - much more than my friend's Panasonic. I've made the basic white, egg-enriched white, brown and french loaves, also done a marmalade cake. None of the family can find a fault with anything that's been made. My friend and neighbour both have the Panasonic that seems to have rave reviews on here but costs nearly twice as much but does no more than this Kenwood. My friend came round to nosey at the first loaf and stayed for the result. She actually said after tasting it that she preferred it to the one that came out of her machine. If it manages to live up to the endurance of the other Kenwood products I own I will be delighted. The final 'icing on the cake' is the excellent Kenwood website where you can very easily download loads and loads of other recipes. With Amazon's price this is incredible value for money for the vast amount it can do. Cannot recommend enough.

I bought this to replace my old Morphy Richards specifically for the traditional oblong/vertical loaf shape as I didn't like the thought of having a bread "tower". If Morphy Richards had made a machine with a traditional shape loaf, I must confess I would have bought that without question.
At first I was not terribly impressed, as it had a lot to live up to. On the down side, the clips holding the pan in place do seem kind of flimsy and it has come out of position twice, its also pretty noisy and the recipes were all very different to my old breadmaker. Additionally there is no delay function on the dough programme, which is annoying when you want to go out and come back to pizza base mix late at night!
However, on the plus side, using both my old and new recipes I have now made many many loaves of bread which do seem to rise more than with my old machine and are lovely and soft inside.
As with all breadmakers you have to be quite careful with the measurements, so I don't understand why Kenwood can't provide a cup that has printed mililitres in 10s rather than 50s but as I use my old Morphy Richards cup this is not a problem for me but would be annoying if not.
On the whole, if you are looking for a traditional shaped loaf then I don't think you can go far wrong with this machine for the money even with its little pitfalls.

Had this breadmaker for just on two weeks. It's compact, easy to use and makes great bread. What more can you want from a breadmaker?

Can't really fault it, but....

....the display is a bit hard to read and the clips that hold the bowl in are a bit 'mickey-mouse'. Can see these being the first thing to give a problem. These are the only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars.

I was lucky enough to order before AMAZON put the price up! Obviously they feel they might have a really good product here that might sell like hot cakes. (Forgive the pun.)

Kneader should be re-designed
The oversized kneader leaves a big hole in the bread when you try to dig or cut it out; it should be re-designed for easier removal; perhaps thinner and flat rather than bent. Read more
