after blending a full jug of soup I try to remove blender from motor and succeed in disconnecting the jug from its blades. hot liquid floods into the motor & all over the kitchen. stupid design. will be looking for a blender that does NOT have detachable blades/base.
it is very easy to repeat this, just get confused & twist in wrong direction and off comes the top section of the jug, leaving the blades, and the jug contents, spilling into the motor.

Having read the previous reviews I was a little worried about this product. But in practice it works well and I do not have any problems with the jar and blades seperating with the result of a splill of the contents. Its the low end of the market but perfectly servicable.
I have just replaced my original Kenwood Blender which I purchased in 1962 !!!!!!!!!!! So I obviously looked at Kenwood models. Having used the new blender a number of times I can state that I am very pleased with my purchase. Will it last as long as my old one? I'll just have to wait and see.!!!!!!
