To further enhance the capability of Kenwood’s Chef and Major kitchen machines, a wide range of attachments have been developed. Each attachment uses a specific outlet according to the speed it needs to run at and each outlet is optimised for a range of dedicated food preparation tasks.
Fitting on the high speed outlet of the Chef or Major kitchen machines, the High Speed Slicer Shredder is perfect for preparing large quantities of food. A bean slicer is incorporated in the lid and a thin chipper plate is also included.
This attachment is supplied with high performance stainless steel plates for different types of preparation: thick and thin slicing and coarse and fine shredding.

Excellent when I'm cooking for the freezer/in large amounts. It's easy to assemble and dismantle for thorough cleaning. I wouldn't bother with it just for one meal - but that's just me. An unbeatable addition to the Kenwood Chef attachment range.

Thia is one of the bulkier attachments for the Kenwood Chef; it is a lot bigger than you would surmise from the product photograph.
It comes with three attachments; one for chips plus a coarse and fine shredder/grater/slicer. It was very easy to put together, as well as fit to the Kenwood Chef body itself. Cleaning is not too difficult although there are a couple of awkward bits to get to (not impossible).
Slicing and grating is very fast and easy - but noisy! It is also rather messy until you get a bowl of the correct proportions to catch the processed goods before they have a chance to scatter everywhere - the food comes out at such a rate of knots that it is better to have the bowl close to the outlet to avoid the bounce effect. Mind you, that resulted in very happy cats when the cheddar ended up on the floor...
It is an acquired technique as I feel as though I could do with an extra pair of hands to hold a bowl to catch what is produced. A rather large mixing bowl feels a little bit excessive, but I have found that is the best thing to use to catch everything (I am wary of perching a bowl at a height above the work surface).
I have used this just to slice peppers for a salad, which is probably not ideal in terms of the time spent washing it up afterwards, but it really comes into its own when preparing lots of vegetables or grating and slicing blocks of cheese. So much easier than having to empty out the food processor attachment, reassemble and continue to prepare large quantities. I am very pleased with the purchase.

I have found it chops thick and thin slices of vegetables brilliantly. It chops uniformly and accurately - never had leeks looking so neat before. The speed it processes the food is mega quick. I chops continuously and the greatest advantage over a food processor is that food continually passes through the chute and into the Kenwood bowl, allowing you to easily separate e.g. different types of vegetables.
One thing I will say is that it is an acquired technique and the order you do the various functions is mightly important to get consistent results. You will also need good storage space facilities too; the boxes for the attachments tend to be rather bulky. There are other cutting discs available - I personally intend to get the medium chipper, which will speed up making homemade chips.
Overall - I'm glad I bought this tool for my Kenwood Chef.

TIMESAVER
One of my best attachments. Used on a regular basis. Quick and easy to use, even my husband is now helping me make my soups etc. Will more than pay for itself.

A good piece of kit, but DOESN'T fit older Kenwood Majors

Kenwood high speed shredder
Ideal for making coleslaw or stir fry, but just a bit too fast. The shredding/slicing is a bit too fine for most culinary purposes, even using the coarse disc. Read more

Works as advertised
Although you don't get different blades to those supplied with the Chef processor bowl, the chute is far more practical than continually removing and emptying the bowl. Read more
