5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful addition to my Kenwood Chef 12 Dec 2009
I am so pleased with my Kenwood Chef Ice Cream attachment. The bowl does not take up very much room in the freezer but is still a good size to make a full litre of the most delicious ice cream.

It is easy to use and easy to wash. I wish I had purchased the attachment years ago.

Just make sure that the Kenwood is switched on before pouring in any liquid, or you could break the plastic blade. As long as the Kenwood is swiched on I really do not see how you could have a problem.

Worth every penny. The Ice cream is just as good as any being made by a machine costing £300 to £400

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous Item, I Love It 17 April 2010
By Mellow Yellow TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Please do not be put off by the negative reviews. This is a solid piece of equipment and if you use it following the instructions I cannot see how anyone can have a problem with it breaking.

This is great value as it includes the Kenlyte mixing bowl which costs £19.99 on its own. This mixing bowl can be used for all Kenwood Chef tasks and is great to have as a spare. You also get the ice cream maker itself which goes in the freezer. It is full of the gel you get in ice blocks so it freezes very quickly, but I leave mine in the freezer all the time and as it is hollow I normally store a bag of peas etc inside so I do not waste the storage space in my freezer. In the box you also get the paddle which is made of plastic but is pretty tough, finally you get the splash guard with a pouring hole.

I use a very basic mix of ready made custard and I add my flavours to it, be it pistachio, chocolate etc. This isnt as nice as proper ice cream made with actual cream, but as I am on a diet I have to be careful!! It is also very tasty and is extremely cheap to make. I have also made sorbet and granitas which is a slushy ice dessert which is very refreshing. If you have the machine switched on before you add the ingredients and then pour the mixture in slowly then you will have no problems at all with this attachment.

Amazon sell a book which called "500 ice cream and sorbets by Alex Barker". this book has helped me get 110% out of my ice cream maker. In fact I have bought a second ice cream maker so I always have a bowl frozen!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect to make creamy ice creams 4 Oct 2010
    Amazon Verified Purchase
I've made ice cream using a simple custard base, and left it in the machine for 30 minutes, and it turned out delicious and perfectly creamy and soft. I don't have to stick to one recipe, I can make any recipe that I want.
As for the reviews about the plastic padle, I just followed the instructions and started the machine before pouring the bater in the machine, and so far so good.
This already comes with a spare plastic bowl.
The only not so good thing is that the plastic cover for the bowl doesn't fit well and sometimes it rattles when the machine is working.
Overall, I'm very happy with this accessory, and very happy that I bought it, and I recommend it.
