When I purchased one of these the price was considerably higher, I bought it on a friend's recommendation and I'm very glad I did.
It heats up quickly, and is so simple to use. The toasties come out perfectly sealed, with hardly any spillage. Obviously if you stuff a massive amount of filling there, it will go all over the place. But for normal sized portions it's more than adequate.
It's true that the plates don't come out, but it's still easy to clean. Just wait until it cools down, then use antibacterial kitchen wipes, followed by a damp sponge.
A quality product at a bargain price. Buy with confidence.

I got this sandwich toaster 8 months ago and I'm already looking to buy a new one!
1. Not very easy to wash (would be easier if plates came out), and even when you are carefull water get inside the unit.
2.The rubber feet have left marks over my kitchen surfaces
3. May be my love for chesse but chesse gets into the hinge.
4. Sometimes the lock gets a bit stuck and when you are trying to open it the stream comes out and burns you.
Safe to say I'm looking to up grade my sandwich toaster.

useless
the bread never fits, takes ages to heat up and cook and dosent do that well either i through it out about after using it 5 times as it was 2 much hassel by cutting ends of bread... Read more

Kenwood sandwich toaster
Looks good but have to cut crusts off bread in order for it to fit properly. Takes ages to cook and sticks easily. Not my best buy I must say

Soggy Toasties
Bought this product as used to have a Kenwood toasty maker years ago. Very disappointed with it, no matter what I do, I cannot get the bread to crisp.
