This is an absolutely first-class book. First published in 1839, I bought the book after reading another book, on Appalachian cooking from the earliest days, and in which the Kentucky Housewife was recommended. Just as a history of cookery from earlier times, it is interesting; but as a way of looking back at the history of cookery in that part of the world, it is quite superlative.

The quality of this facsimile is outstanding. It's time to get the pots and pans out - and enjoy the fantastic recipes from yesteryear!
