Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this because I use one at work and it's very handy - I've no issue with the thing itself.
However, the Amazon description of the item is thoroughly misleading, as all the pictures show it with a USB hub unit attached, and describe it as 'Notebook stand with Smartfit system'. I understood this to mean the stand comes complete with the USB unit, but I was wrong. That costs, currently, an extra £20(http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kensington-sd100-Notebook-Docking-Station/dp/B000QJ7UDU/ref=pd_sim_computers_3).
I'm therefore giving it one star only, as to buy the unit as pictured actually costs almost twice as much as indicated by the description as published.

I received this item today and I have to say, I'm very impressed.
There are cheaper stands out there but I'm really glad I spent a little bit extra on this. Dispite the fact that this is really designed for notebook computers, it supports my full size laptop perfectly. It feels sturdy, looks cool and is very practical.
It folds down flat but is unlikely to fit into a laptop bag; for this reason there may be portability issues for some. As far as i'm concerned this isn't a problem; I bought this to give me the comfort of a desk top at home while maintaining the ability to take my computer out and about to use as a normal laptop.
The only downside for me is that my headphone jack is on the front of my laptop making it difficult to use while in the stand. If you have more important functions on the front of your PC (i.e. CD drive) this may not be the product for you.
All in all, great value especially at the reduced price I got it for - very pleased.

Over the years I have made my own laptop stands because the machines always run cooler and the heat exchangers do not get so clogged up with fluff. I did not buy this one. I found it at the recycling centre when in search for plastic to make one. It is definitely worth the 50p I paid for it. It has a good range of movement and the clip board on the front is an excellent place for all my post-it notes. My only criticism is "why do all these things have to be black?"
