This mouse is perfect for people who hate tiny mice or even mid sized mice. Kensington do make a mid size version of this mouse, however after initially ordering that version i found it was tiny even compared to the basic Microsoft mouse i was using. I strongly recommend that if you have average to large sized hands you consider this mouse.

Some important figures for you, the dimensions roughly are:

Length: 12cm
Width 8cm
max height 4cm
cable length 2 metres

these figures are totally different to Amazon's but i have measure this with a ruler

It is very comfy to use the large hump gives good support to your hand and the majority of the buttons are within comfortable reach. the back browser button can be a bit tricky to get to, you can either press it with the inside of your thumb or arch your thumb back and press it with the tip of your thumb. eventually you will get a comfortable arrangement for that. the Mouse has 5 typical buttons the scroll wheel is a soft feel rubber and turns with nice soft notches and acts as a 3rd button, as previously mentioned there are forward and back buttons on the side for use with your thumb. there is a 6th button that is in the centre of the mouse for you to cycle through the DPI settings that run from 600-1200-1800-2400 DPI i noticed that 1200 is very sensitive to me but i don't use much precision mouse work. would it be any good for a gamer? possibly depends what DPI your after.

Compared to other optical mice i have had it is slightly heavier but i don't mind that. The most important thing to me was how big and how comfy it was and in these areas it excels. I don't care what sound the buttons make or what colour the lighting is.

It takes some getting used to this enormous mouse, but it is comfortable to use.

There's no sideways scrolling on the scroll wheel.

And after a couple of months the scroll wheel now does random things - whichever way you turn it the page will go up a bit, down a bit, up a bit again. Totally unusable.

So, I'm not impressed with the quality and won't buy another from Kensington.

I'm an adult male who buys gloves labelled "Large"... and this mouse is too large for my hands.
With the heel of my palm on the desk I can reach the scroll wheel with my index finger, but not get on top of it.
And I can't click the furthermost thumb button without pressing the one next to it.
The Mid Sized version in the same range would have been a better choice for me and I suggest you consider that first unless you shop for gloves in XL or XXL.

Ergonomically this mouse is close to perfect. The large size feels entirely natural. The only improvement would be for the cursor tracking speed to be programmable - as it is, you need to click through to the required speed (from the four pre-sets available), every time the drivers load upon start up.

This is a large mouse but it isn't quite big enough to fill my palm, making is uncomfortable. With a smaller mouse I rest the top of my hand where it joins my fingers and that is comfortable. With a slightly larger mouse I would put my palm full against the body of the mouse. This isn't quite big enough so it sits half way in between. Of course it depends entirely on the size of you hand. Mine are probably about average for a man. For the scientifically minded my middle finger is 8.2-8.5 cm to the base on the palm side and 11.2 to the knuckly, measuring on the back. My palm is 10cm long by 9cm wide.

Edit: after using the mouse for a month, I am downrating it as I find it too slippery, even though I am using a good mat. But I still give it 3 stars as it is much better than my previous Logitech M310 which was very difficult to control.

I bought this mouse when a cheap one I bought broke after a couple of months. At first this mouse looked HUGE and I couldn't imagine my small hand being comfortable using it, but actually it is the perfect size. With a nice wrist rest, I don't think it could be any more comfortable. It looks and feels like good quality, with handy back and forward-page buttons under your thumb which I've never had before! Overall, I would definitely recommend this mouse, it's perfect for the price.

So far is seems very smooth and reliable.

Unfortunately for me its still a little small for my hands but I have never found one big enough. Another 25mm longer would probably be perfect.

It does feel very nice and well built though. Smooth scrolling wheel and positive clicks so I am happy with it.

It did not come with USB to PS2 adapter as stated in the description though. Fortunately my old one works fine with it.

I bought this because it was large, and for my big hands it is very comfortable (the fact that others have complained it was too large for their smaller hands was a positive inducement for my purchase - but it just shows how personal the choice of a mouse can be).

I don't do gaming, so my demands for the mouse are more limited. I also wanted a wired mouse rather than a wireless mouse as I feared a wireless connection would interfere with (or suffer interference from) my WiFi router that was very close by,

Only slight negative was having been used to using a tracker ball for many years, and having the left click button under my thumb rather than under my index finger, I initially found having to use my index finger for the left mouse button less comfortable.
