I was looking forward to this item, but will be getting one from a local oriental store instead or reverting to using a colander!

The steamer was covered in mould when it arrived, the box was the only packaging, no plastic protection at all. The two levels were completely different shapes, one oval and one circular, so they didn't fit together. The included "recipe book" was a waste of time too with about 4 recipes in it.

Amazon were brilliant as ever, delivering quickly, and refunding without any trouble.

However, I would not recommend buying this item from my experience.

I bought this steamer about 4 years ago and have used it a couple of times practically every week. I'm still using it now although some of this little strips of bamboo are working loose. It is a real bargain though and worth every penny for the difference in taste of the vegetables. Also perfect for steaming fish.

The only thing with this product is that when you use it you have to really clean the device and make sure it is dry through out otherwise it will accumulate mould.

My wife has found the steamer to be one of the best buys for her kitchen.
The veg that she steams keeps the flavour in and does in three quarters of the time that boiling or steaming in a pan.
She would reccomend it to any Cook.

I never leave feedback but this has irritated me enough to do so.
This was bought to replace a similar steamer which I had been using for some time. I thought that a Ken Hom one would be equal or better quality but I was wrong. The lid fell apart after just 3 or 4 uses

Arrived very promptly after ordering in great condition. The two bamboo steamers come with a nice recipe booklet to help you get started. It mentions it in the booklet but I'll say it here; do not put these through the dishwasher or submerge them in soapy water. They only require a quick rinse and an air-dry before using again.

As for their quality, I have no complaints whatsoever. I have steamed fish/chicken and made some delicious Dim-Sum, there's not much to say about this product other than if you need some bamboo steamers then you can't do wrong by getting these.

We recently bought Jamie's 15-Minute Meals and one of the recipes called for a steamer. That book calls for a lot of things but we'd been looking for a steamer for a while so plumped for this one on Amazon which had some good reviews.

The steamer arrived well boxed and packaged and comprises two steaming sections with a lid. The whole thing feels quite authentic and is assembled well, with the bamboo rods fixed to the main frame. There are a couple of protruding nail heads but I think these things are made pretty quickly and they are not sharp or dangerous.

Cooking with this was very easy and the food came out just right - it was very light and there's no real alternative to the taste you can get with a steamer.

My only small gripe with this is that it is quite hard to clean. Another reviewer mentioned theirs going mouldy and I can see how this might happen - we clean ours immediately and try to keep it dry as soon as possible to reduce the chance of this happening.

I like the taste of steamed vegetables (especially carrots) far more than then when they are boiled.
This steamer is a simple piece of kitchen equipment at a good price.
It sits nicely on my wok, and also on two of my saucepans, so I can use it every day and get some good mileage out of it, making it even better value for money.
I keep the heat lower when using a steamer than when I boil vegetables, and I also add seasoning and herbs toward the end of the cooking time as I prefer the flavour I get when I do this.
I also steam fish - in a foil casing inside the steamer and - of course - dumplings!
I would be a bit happier if the lid handle was just a bit bigger, so I can get a good grip on it whilst wearing an oven glove, but otherwise I can find no faults with it.
