Currently, this is one of the few Bathers albums which appears on Amazon at an affordable price if you buy 2nd hand, and happily, it's one of their standout albums. The other reviewers give a clear sense of why this ought to be an automatic purchase, if you love an otherworldly romanticism, and quality performances and production. You slip into the Bathers like you might a warm, yet mysterious pool. The lushness of the melodies and production have a clear classical influence, but this is not a sterile, but a richly warm setting. We have songs about love in all its phases, including the bitterness of loss, "Up on the west coast waiting/I wear the rain like tears", there's the mystery woman in 'East of East Delier', while the recklessness of 'No risk, no glory' almost flirted with radio play fame. No point in repeating myself from my other Bathers reviews; enough to say that if you're a lover of quality music, and don't adopt an automatic sneer whenever you hear the word 'romantic', you should seize the chance to pick up a rare lost masterpiece.
