Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer sees the titular surfer leading a team of pro surfers that includes Lisa Andersen, Tom Carroll, Tom Curren, Nathan Fletcher, Bruce Irons, Rob Machado, and Kalani Robb. The surfers are represented by realistic, high-resolution 3-D models and animations reflecting their personal styles. A proprietary wave engine powers state-of-the-art graphics, physics, and motion, allowing Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer to capture the essence of surfing and its culture. The exotic real-world beaches of South Africa, Hawaii, Australia, Tahiti, Spain, and North America will immerse players in the virtual surf world. An intuitive control system allows players to execute the most technical pro-manoeuvres and experience ever-changing wave conditions. The game offers multiple play modes, including career mode, special events, and surf trip. Additionally, a large variety of real surf tricks and events, licensed boards, wetsuits, and clothing lend the game authenticity.

As a regular surfer I have been interested in all the surfing games available for the PS2. I have to say I was truly amazed at how good the graphics were on this game when the first wave jacked up and was heading towards me in the tutorial. After the first wave I was hooked. The graphics and dynamics of the waves are stunning. Varying from beach to beach, the game designers should be applauded!
Barrel riding is the ultimate move in real surfing. The meter (like Tony Hawk's grinds) works brilliantly in the barrel. Floaters are really good. Snaps off the lips are great. The air tricks are spectacular and have grabs, flips and spins. One recommendation I have to existing owners is to watch the replays after a good run, and toggle with the slow motion function when you do a big move - Amazing graphics from all sorts of angles! There is also a good variety of surfers to choose from, all with their own personal styles and special moves.
The soundtrack is great, its really chilled out surfing music (which makes a nice change from the crap punk music from Tony Hawk's 4), with some classic favourites from recent surfing films. There are also lots of film sequences that are well put together, and add realism to the game (lacking in the other surfing titles). The 2-player mode is also well put together and is great fun.
No game can be perfect, the carve tricks on the face of the wave are a bit unrealistic and taking off on the waves is too easy in my opinion, but these are just my own personal gripes and do not deter from the overall enjoyment of the game.
I recommend this game highly to surfers and non-surfers. Its a great feeling to burst out of a really deep barrel, go straight into a long grinding floater and finish the sequence off with an awe inspiring air! If you want a game with great graphics and great gameplay, and you like the Tony Hawks games then this is an essential purchase. Its like a breath of fresh air to the extreme sports games world.

Kelly Slater's pro surfer is a really great game because there are tons of different tricks, the waves are mainly different, there are loads of surfers, and this game also has the best and most well known surf spots in the world including Jaws, Pipeline, J-Bay and Mavericks.

I have already got this game from when i was on holiday in america, it is very good game with good graphics and many surfers, boards and locatioins etc. but the only thing which put this down is that it is too easy to complete because i completed it i a week. Although it is easy it is a great game for surfers and non surfers becasuse the graphics are really cool. there are many world class surfers to choose from like slater, mickey etc. If you buy this game i would advise you to buy it cheap with tony hawks pro skater 4 as that is a great game too. So what are you waiting for go and buy IT!!!!
