Taschen books are always excellent value especially from Amazon.
I went to a Keith Haring exhibition in Budapest last week which blew my mind.
The pictures are massive, taking up full walls of the gallery, often painted on vinyl tarpaulins in rich colours. Sometimes in fluorescents, Japanese inks, or vinyl paint. What a thrilling and vibrant display they made. The designs are so inspirational, that you just want to start painting right now. That is what I like about this artist, you feel he made the world a better place to look at.
This book gives an insight into Keith Harings life - only 31 years of it, which is a disaster for the art world and what a huge sum of work he completed. He must have been working day and night for the whole of his short life to get through so much. The book is a great resource for his designs too. I didnt know that he painted the side of a church in Pisa or a sports car and even Grace Jones - a great modern contemporary artist whose life was cut short far too soon.
