1.0 out of 5 stars Very bad sound and picture quality 24 Nov 2009
I really like Keith Floyd's cookery shows but this DVD production is of very bad quality. The sound is terrible and the picture is not much better. It would look and sound better on VHS. So I would not bother with this set and would suggest waiting for something better at a later date.On further veiwing and to much annoyance i thought I'd add at the major disappointment of the production of this DVD with todays technology I think DELTA have been very lazy with this box set and have shown no respect to this great man and his ground breaking programms, cheap and nasty stay well clear and hope someone else in the future will do a greatly improved job of copying these programs to disc for future people to enjoy. Great programs C**p production.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great but where are the gems? 25 Feb 2009
I have loved Keith Floyd's cookery shows since Floyd on Fish. He is a genuine talent on television and a master chef and makes truly entertaining cookery programmes. This is an inspirational box set but my big disappointment is that it leaves out the two greatest Floyd series: Floyd on Britain and Ireland, which is outstanding in the cookery genre, and Floyd on France, which is the finest cookery series ever in my opinion. Why the publishers chose to ignore these gems is quite beyond me.

I have been waiting for several years for someone to release the Keith Floyd series on DVD. As soon as I saw that this was available, I placed my order. My only caveat was that the Fish, Food, Britain and Ireland, Oz and USA series weren't included.

Although it's so good to see Keith's series again, especially Spain, Italy and Far Flung, I was extremely disappointed in the picture and sound quality of the DVDs. It certainly isn't anywhere near the quality that I expect from commercially produced DVDs, especially as most originate from the BBC. I reckon if I still had my VHS videos that I recorded from the original broadcasts, I could produce similar results by capturing them to my PC and transcoding them to DVD myself.

If you want to see Keith Floyd again, buy this box set. However, don't expect the picture quality to be up to normal standards, so bear that in mind before you order!

5.0 out of 5 stars Floyd at a bargain price 19 Jun 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I hesitated to buy this set, as there had been caveats about the production values, but I have seen the first half of Floyd Around the Med, and have been satisfied by the quality. The computer DVD playing software crashed before the end of the last (of five!) programs on the first DVD, but my DVD player got further, although I suspect some truncation. There may other problems, of course, but at this price, who can complain?

Listen, folks, this is Floyd at his outrageous best. Cooking in his own indiscriminate, wacky, undisciplined style and exuding a huge love for food. It's adorable. I used to cook like this when I was 25, and I loved it. I think we need to snap this up, and if a better edition comes along - snap that up too. Anyway, I'm off for a slurp.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Keith Floyd Cookery Collection 13 Jan 2009
This is the best box set I have bought this year. I have been fed up with waiting for Saturday mornings to see one episode. Here you have hours of Keith cooking all over the world. He shows hundreds of brilliant recipes with a touch of humour and the odd slurp of wine. It will also inspire you to visit some of these great places.

Having watched a few of these programs on Sky I was very disappointed with the quality of the DVD, when watched on sky great quality So when you buy a collection of the same programs on DVD you would expect the same quality on that format....Not so some of the programs appear blured in appearance which spoiles my veiwing...I would not recommend buying this product....Save your self some money and watch the repeats on TV !

4.0 out of 5 stars Keith Floyd is the master 27 Dec 2011
Keith Floyd was really the person who created this whole genre with travelling chefs. Actually he was just as much an anthropologist as a traveller and a chef. Anyway it is good entertainment to watch him in action. Sadly some of the episodes are of quite poor technical quality. Sound and picture could have been better. The box is worth the money anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cooking around the Globe
Fourteen hours of pure cooking. What else could it be AND what else could one need? The only drawback is the ever growing hunger.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed...
Keith Floyd has been something of an inspiration for men interested in real food, growing up in the 80s. He demonstrated that cooking could be fun and very far from drudgery. Read more

Floyd is still the best. I'd caught some clips of his shows on a recent Saturday morning cook show and realised how much I missed watching him in action. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking box set
Nice box set covering most of Mr. Floyd's culinary adventures. Nice price and interesting viewing. Certainly beats watching the repeats on TV with adverts every 10 minutes.
