First song off the upcoming 'An Omen' EP from Trent Reznor's band How To Destroy Angels. 'Keep it Together' is a dense and atmospheric song filled with trademark Reznor mood and effect. His music over the last few years has begun to veer away from the harsh, hostile sounds of Nine Inch Nails and this song is no exception to his new musical approach as a minimalist electronic artist. The simple beats contrast nicely with the ominous background drones, while Mariqueen Maandig's throaty vocals add to the tension. A satisfying, ambient track that hints at greater things to come from the band in the future.

In the flood of mediocrity that music is these days, Trent & Co are a consistent delight.

This single is such a breath of fresh air. It plays with notions of tension, forging a distorted heavy bass element against a backdrop of slow moving, evolving sounds and vocals that sit perfectly in their own right, but fade in and out of the dissonance as a whole - Keeping in tone of the "I can't keep it together" lyric that spirals and cuts around.
It keeps you on an edge of tension, showing restraint to turn itself into something 'bigger', but you are never left wanting: The intricacy of the elements dipping in and out will leave you feeling satisfied.

It is an off-kilter, grumbling and slow burning piece that is very intelligently worked out. HTDA have showcased perfectly how less can be incredibly more, and leave you feel more full and satisfied than the majority of music out there.

A considered, refined and intelligent approach to tension and depth.
Absolutely excellent.

I cannot wait to hear the E.P, and the full album release expected early next year.

I put the track on, and my testes exploded from the beautiful melancholy of the piece, surrounded by the darkness of the lyrics and unease of the music, I'm now suing htda_ for sexual assault.
