5.0 out of 5 stars Soft rock meets the blues 19 April 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This is an exceptional album, two tracks in particular stand out for me, the title track - Keep out - we are toxic and Precious. As to be expected with Snowy some excellent guitar playing throughout, this trio are a very tight outfit, have they ever recorded a live album I wonder? I would recommend this album to everyone, not sure why I am the first to review it?

5.0 out of 5 stars About Time to Give the Man The Credit He Deserves! 23 April 2003
By "mobby_uk" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Snowy White is one of the best guitarists in Rock history, and certainly the most underrated today.
The man has a very impressive CV to say the least.
Playing with Thin Lizzy, Peter Green, and being chosen by Roger Waters to take Gilmour's leads in The Wall Berlin Concert did not happen by chance!
But Snowy White is no session guitarist, he is rather a very talented song writer in his own right, writing songs that alternate between blues, ballads, and melodic symphonic rock, with his great solos throughout.
He was made famous earlier in his solo career by one beautiful song, Bird Of Paradise, from his White Flame album, but all his output since has been great.
The self titled Snowy White with classic tracks such as Land of Freedom and Fortune is in my opinion a must for all serious music lovers and my personal best, Keep Out we're Toxic comes close second and is a very powerful album indeed. The title track stands out, and is a mind blowing epic with his trademark solo, but all the songs, from the bluesy to the slightly funky to the ballads are classics.
What distinguishes Snowy White from other Guitarists/Song Writers is his warm voice, and his talent at writing songs that are quite original.
This artist should finally receive his dues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing CD! 29 Sep 2011

I was very glad to find this in MP3 format, as the actual disc was very expensive. This is one great album, consisting of mellow blues-rock with a sort of hard edge... sort of pink floyd-ish. Anyhow, if you're any kind of fan of snowy white, one of the guitarists on the excellent Thin Lizzy LP Chinatown, then you'll probably like his playing here. If you're unfamiliar with him, I highly recommend his music, especially if you like guitar stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Guitarist 15 April 2011
By Bill - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I've always thought that the best talent is often undiscovered by the masses and Snowy White is a prime example. Snowy White has put out a lot of great albums and this one is at the top of the list. Backed by his long time and tight rhythm section, he has created a masterpiece with this album. Almost every song on this CD is the stuff classics are made of. There are three extra songs on this disc that were not on the import version I bought - so of course I bought the MP3's and the extra cuts are tastefully done Snowy White 'mini jams'. Snowy has played with greats like Peter Green, Pink Floyd, Al Stewart and Thin Lizzy to name a few but he can easily stand alone and does so strongly on this disc.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great album, but suspicious... 3 Mar 2014

The album content and talent live up to my expectations. The manufacturing of the disc and booklet looks suspicious to me. There are none of the normal CD markings (copyrights, unique manufacturing codes, etc.).
5.0 out of 5 stars From one of Britain's Best.... 9 May 2013

"Terence Charles "Snowy" White(born 3 March 1948, Barnstaple, Devon) is an English guitarist, known for having played with Thin Lizzy (permanent member from 1980 to 1982) and with Pink Floyd (as a backing guitarist; he was first invited to tour with the band through Europe and the United States in 1977, and during The Wall shows in 1980) and, more recently, for Roger Waters' band.He is also known for his 1983 solo effort "Bird of Paradise", which became a UK Singles Chart Top 10 hit single.

Snowy White is one of a handful of classic blues-orientated British electric guitar players, musicians whose sound, technique and style has echoed the originality of the blues with the excitement of contemporary rock.

In the 1990's, Snowy, together with Juan van Emmerloot, (Drums) and Walter Latupeirissa, (Bass), formed `The White Flames' band, recording five albums in total from 1996 - 2007. Also featured on this album, Thomas White (bongos)& Paul Lily, Mick "Tinkerbell" Smith (strings).

This 1999 release is one of Snowy's most powerfully creative releases, nine tracks including two instrumentals. This may not be as great as their "No Faith Required" album but it is very listenable indeed.

"Although one might easily label Snowy White's music as progressive blues rock, progressive in the sense that it uses structures and arrangements, as well as a sometimes almost psychedelic free-formedness, that are uncommon to regular blues, it isn't really." The style of Snowy's playing reminds me of Mark Knopfler and the Dire Straits, with David Gilmour-ish undertones.

This one is a keeper with excellent bass lines and the percussion is bar none and of course there is Snowy.
