These sandals fit really well and felt very comfortable on their first two mile walk.
bought these for my husband, he finds it difficult to find shoes that fit well.
These shoes are very comfortable, I needed a pair of sandals with full support for my disabled son.

Product Description

Open vents distributed throughout the Keen Arroyo II Walking Sandal's waterproof leather upper enable it to breathe whilst a hydrophobic mesh lining wicks excess moisture away from the skin for a thoroughly more comfortable experience. A heel support structure secures the heel firmly in place to prevent slippage and consequential blistering. The sandal's primary cushioning ability is derived from a dual density, compression-moulded EVA midsole compound that absorbs the brunt of the initial heelstrike phase of the gait whilst simultaneously attenuating shockwaves as it transitions forwards towards the toe off phase. A removable, metatomical EVA footbed adheres to the contours of the foot for an adaptive lockdown whilst a secure fit lace capture system also works to deliver confidence-inspiring security. This all sits atop a durable, non-marking and aggressively appointed outsole that boasts a series of 4mm, multi-directional lugs that yield comprehensive grip and traction on a range of surfaces. Torsional stability is afforded by an ESS stability shank that prevents the shoe from twisting throughout the midfoot, particularly useful on the rugged, uneven terrain this sandal is likely to be expected to perform on.

I bought these sandals three years ago. I have a UK size 10, wide feet and bought the men's Keen Newport H2 sandals. As I walk long distances, 100 miles plus for charity, walking boots got too hot and I had blisters, these sandals were a trial alternative. The sandals have had almost constant wear over at least ten months of the year since I bought them, in all weathers. When training on all terrain, hills, trails, urban footpaths, they have saved my toes from bangs and bruises, feet from overheating and blisters. I wear with socks and bare foot, all day, carrying a backpack and afterwards, they go in the washing machine wash to freshen them up.

The only downside, thousands of miles service is starting to show but only slightly. I walked several London marathons, blister free, in them and they have slight wear on the heel. A perfect excuse to get a best pair, so will now buy newer snazzy bright red ones.

The bottom line, they are built to last, they are wide, comfortable, toes are protected and cool on warm days on the trail. Keen now has more colour choice, you won't regret it. I should get commission for this, I praise them all the time. ;-)

Fantastic. A bit exspensive but are they. They are lasting forever, I use them for walking, rock pooling, clambering up cliffs. Hardly take them off.

This is my 2nd pair of Keens Arroyo. I purchased the first pair as I needed something comfortable to wear whilst working as a volunteer at an orphanage in Kenya for educatethekids.com.
I wore them until there was no tread left on the sole, I am talking about wearing them almost every day for the best part of 18 months, digging a 30 feet deep bore hole in the village, traipsing through the bush, on the beach & in the sea.

The great thing about the keen shoes and sandals is that they are very good for people with wide feet, unlike some other well known expensive items starting with M, I found that I was having to try on size 10 - 11 for my size 9 feet before I could even squeeze my foot in.

Not much else to say really, reasonable price, very comfortable, good grip and lasts very well in harsh conditions.

If you are looking for a comfy pair of sandals, look no further. Straight on and superb, even from new. Given that they machine wash , what more could I ask for.

Quality: Very sturdy, high quality, well made sandals. Comfortable to wear right from the start and for long periods at a time, these Keen Newport H2 sandals provide additional protection via the closed toe front whilst still being sufficiently 'airy' in design to let your feet breath in hot conditions. The materials used appear to be of high quality and waterproof so that you can walk through streams, puddles or into the shallows of the sea when at the beach, without water damaging these sandals. The sole is particularly sturdy, offering excellent support and protection in all the right places including heels, foot arches and toes for when walking long distances or across uneven terrain. I also found the under sole grips to be good in wet, slippery and uneven underfoot conditions.

Style: Robust, built for purpose. Available in several colour options to suit a range of tastes. However, if you are looking for more flimsy, lightweight and delicate boutique style sandals to wear as a fashion statement, then these might not be for you.

Comfort: Comfortably (pun intended) the best sandals I have ever owned.

Sizing: I am invariably a size 9 (EU 43) for all types of footwear and so that is the size I bought in this instance, despite some of the observations posted on other reviews to buy them one shoe size bigger than normal, and they fitted me perfectly.

Price / Value for money: I bought these sandals in June 2014 from Amazon for £53. If the current price online is anywhere up around their normal RRP of £80 and you aren't in any particular hurry to buy them, then simply pop these items into your 'Save for Later' list on Amazon and wait for the price to drop, which it will.

I'm a Keen fan, with that outed, I'm also have a few pairs of various other Keen shoes as well as these sandals. These Newport's on their 5th year of service. They are extremely durable and very comfortable.

Things I like:
The toe protector. I don't really like open toe sandals as apart from having my toes out for all to see, the protector does exactly that - protects from knocks and bangs. It also stops dirt and water etc getting onto your toes. If you're walking through wet grass for example the toe cap will keep the water off.Walking through the woods with brambles and nettles etc - no problem

They're respectable enough to wear on almost all occasions too.

Vents well in the heat

Dislikes? Occasionally small stones can get in underneath from the open back, and if you're walking on the beach in sand, they will fill up so you have to take them off, but then again so you should walk bear foot on the beach :)

My new puppy had a go at them last year so they are looking worn, when they give up I'll buy another pair no hesitation
