I am a bit of a diary addict which is why I bought this book. It is fun but I have to say more for people who don't generally keep a diary to make some sort of record of their thoughts - not for me who like to write reams!!! The questions are very thought provoking but no space to expand - need to have a notebook by your side to finish your entry - but that defeats the object!

This is perfect for people that have always wanted to write a diary but invariably gave up after the 1st month. It's totally cool, and I think I will actually finish it.
It's simple (as you might expect) and fun, but also encourages you to really ponder and reflect on your day with daily questions like:
"Your day was a) precious b) a nail file c) crushed"
And it's got a little folder bit in the back, like a Moleskine, that you can keep train tickets and stuff in. Win!

I cannot express how impressed I am with my Keels Simple Diary. I first saw these for sale in the Tate Modern gift shop and was totally charmed by the concept. The idea behind the item is that keeping an ordinary diary is often difficult without the monotony of got up, went to work and had sausage and mash for dinner, taking over every day. This alternative ensures that every page has an interesting series of questions ranging from "who is brilliant but does not have a clue..." to "draw a graph of your life experiences up to this date..." (Graph template included on page). As you can see from the example photos there is still the integral space to record your own daily experiences, however it is small enough so any boring days look interesting and any interesting days must be short and to the point to avoid any self indulgent waffle. What is wrong with self indulgent waffle in a diary I hear you ask, well absolutely nothing, but if that is your ideal diary you should probably not buy this and write a blog instead. However if you have previously tried to keep a diary but failed miserably after a week, or a month, or even a day (!) this is probably the diary for you.
Although a little indie and arty it has a very very accessible lay out and quirky enough to make you think and smile when filling out any of the numerous pages. There are no specific dates on the pages so you can pick up the diary at any point without the embarrassing blank spaces glaring at you. I do fill mine in every day and have done for just over 3months now, very impressive as I have unsuccessfully attempted a diary every year. However my only criticism is that after 3months I am roughly half way through, so I will probably need 2 for the entire year. I would really encourage you to buy this, as it is both fun, easy and engaging. I cannot think of any other criticisms than its length however for a diary which is casual and amusing I am quite happy to buy another.
