This book is a real favourite of mine. I love cooking, but with a full time job, have limited time to spend in the kitchen and hunting around the shops for hard to get ingredients. I have many of Katie Stewart's books which are excellent. Her recipes always work ! This book is different and especially good in that the recipes are quick and simple to put together and produce a stunning contemporary dish. A first class book for any modern cook in a hurry.

I went to a friends house to have lunch and in passing she asked if I could cook the Chocolate Fudge pudding, I will try anything, The whole lot was eaten!! I never cook deserts let alone cakes as they are usually disastrous - Well done Katie, I have now ordered a copy of my own and look forward to trying out many more receipies.

I was a Woman's Journal reader for about 15 years and adored Katie Stewart's delicious recipes. I bought this recipe book quite some time ago, and since advised a friend to do the same. Katie's recipes DO work, and this book certainly does them credit. This book is wonderfully illustrated which does help when you are wondering how a dish should turn out. I highly recommend this book to all cooks, novice or professional, as it contains recipes explained in such a way that everyone wants to give at least one or two a try. I liked the sound of the pasta recipes and the first recipe I tried was "Fresh Tomato and Herb Pasta" Delicious! Also made "Raspberry Clafoutis" a refreshing change from the cherry one found in so many cookbooks. "Extremely Thin Apple Slice" is a tasty American bake that looks too nice to slice up!! Eleven out of ten!
