I have been looking for this book for years and I'm so disappointed it's out of print. I had a copy as a child that my brother had before me and that i passed on to my sisters. My mum read it to us so much that we knew it off by heart and read it with her although we couldn't read. When I read it to my sisters I used to skip parts to see if she'd notice and she always did. It's about a little girl who goes to the zoo and makes friends with a bear cub who then wriggles under the fence to go and play with Katie. Katie gives the bear her hat and scarf so that he looks just like a real boy in a fur coat. they go to the park and then back to katie's house for bread and honey, then Katie takes the smallest bear back to the zoo. It's a delightful story that is really well illustrated with bright colours. It's one of the things I'll always remember from my childhood.
