I wish I had not bothered to buy this audio book.
I loved the Anya Seton book that I read many years ago, and have been looking for a while for it on audio. I wanted to take it on holiday and listen while on the long journey. I had looked up Wanda McCaddon, and seeing that she was English I thought I would buy it. (Not too keen on American accent trying to be English.)
What a disappointment. She may as well of been American, for the way she pronounced certain things. I just found it annoying. She had no passion in her voice, in fact her voice was so bland I thought my 5 yr old Daughter could have done better. I take so much out of a story, and I did take so much from this book, but the audio book just did not come up to scratch at all.
What a shame.

I have enjoyed the writing of Anya Seton for many years and first read her novel: Katherine more than 40 years ago. It is such a poignant story,,,,,,,,,,,the characters all so real, although obviously embellished with a certain amount of poetic licence. However the many historic chronicles of the time, give credence to the rich story line, while Anya Seton's creative genius and insight into human nature colour it with tender passion and moving humanity. These days,, since my retirement, I spend my time indulging in
past times I had little time for in my busy professional life. But now I can concentrate on things that give me joy......sewing with fine & elaborate fabrics.....I make Medieval Costumes for Re-enactors, Films, Museums, Weddings etc. and while I sew I listen to my favourite novels now produced on Audio!
