The Rough Guide to Food won the national 2010 Guild of Food Writers - Derek Cooper Award for Campaigning and Investigative Food Writing or Broadcasting
I've been cooking since I was five (admittedly, mainly cake) and grown my own vegetables intermittently since the age of nine (living in Norfolk. I was an early organic vegetable box adopter (I'm a big fan of Riverford's boxes). My idea of a good weekend is tracking down small producers and new food markets and then cooking with my food haul; my idea of a bad weekend is peering in other people's shopping trolleys and scouring supermarket shelves for the latest food industry nasty. I wanted to write The Rough Guide to Food to tell the true story of the food we eat now: the good and the bad.
I've worked as a non-fiction commissioning editor in publishing for twenty years and now write, commission and edit freelance (books and website content). I review and write regularly for The Times Higher. I also teach publishing at Bath Spa University: that's when I'm not lounging around in a favourite new cafe or twittering @kreeve.
