I bought this book to remind me why I enjoyed it so much when I first read it in the early 1970s - I wasn't disappointed but it does show how much life has moved on. Good read!

An easy read, and with a lot more depth to the story than appears at first sight. Interestingly, we had it for our book group once and it gave rise to a really wide-ranging discussion about social problems both at the time of the book and today.
