Having owned and used more gadget bags than I care to count, some of a size that I would never think of carrying today, I think that I know what will and will not work for me in any situation.
Although this bag is advertised as able to carry a DSLR, a telephoto/zoom lens and a camcorder - the latter in the detachable extension pack which is supported only by Velcro strips - I cannot see this bag as suitable other than for a compact system, at best. Even in advance of seeing it, I thought that it may support a system compact and 3 lenses, two of which are of the pancake variety. The design makes even that unlikely as, unless the end reinforcements are moved to use as partitions, there aren't any. In any event, moving them would would remove much of the protection to your equipment.
As it stands, within the main bag alone, everything large will bang about as and when the bag is moved. There are end pockets for something rather slim, a mobile phone or MP3 player etc. There are internal pockets for flash cards, filters (smaller ones) etc but no other means to store anything smaller than a medium telephoto zoom safely or securely.
A good quality shoulder strap is provided as are two shorter straps for a small tripod. The size of the bag would limit this to a mini-pod or one with rather more sections to the legs than is normally considered stable. A full-size tripod would extend so far beyond the ends of the bags to be a nuisance to the person carrying it and to anyone else in close proximity.
At a price of just under £60, the bag is expensive for the facilities on offer. It appears to be very well made and the idea is a good one; however, the size was a great disappointment. The height is reasonable but 25% greater depth and it would have been perfect, provided there were a few dividers. It therefore misses the mark for me!
