The Internet is a great place to find all kinds of Useful information. While it's useful it does have a darker side and most people would have heard of the term 'Computer Virus' and some would of heard the term 'Trojan' or 'Worm'. These are all unwanted on a home computer because they they can destroy data or even steal personal Information such as passwords etc. Unfortunately someone to no fault of their own can install one of these computer nasties without even knowing through email or a download for example. That's why Anti-virus software is really important and to confuse matters even more some are more effective than others.
Many people especially beginners probably would not have even heard of Kaspersky Anti-virus. The big names such as Norton or Mcafee are far more mainstream. Kaspersky should not be overlooked because it is a very efficient piece of software. Many independent tests actually put this as one of the best available. It has excellent detection and updates the Virus finding database regularly. It also uses technology to spot unknown threats. I really do like Kaspersky Anti-virus and I recommend this over other Anti-virus software's available because its really that good

Some people don't realise how other Anti-Virus programs from well known brands can grind your system to a complete halt or there-abouts. You won't believe this - I'm running an old 466Mhz with 512 MB RAM and upgraded to XP home. Just got connected to Broadband. OK, it's not the ultimate, slickest, go faster stripes system available, but it's fine for me and I can guarantee you, many users would be impressed by it's performance.
I have Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0 installed for over 2 weeks now. I am very impressed. Had a minor problem with the Activation code whilst installing it - phoned the helpline and the service was fantastic. Sent me an e-mail in seconds - well written instructions and problem solved.
The Anti-Virus updates automatically, runs in the background. Protects e-mail and online browsing and doesn't grind my system to a halt. Once installed and updated I ran a full system scan - found 3 trojans and 38 possible threats - so much for the well known Anti-virus program before.
To summarise, if you want your PC protected, and still have reasonable performance, don't hesitate, buy Kaspersky - neat software that works.

I've allways used the other one you know the one everybody knows, sounds like a motorbike from way back but it was getting greedy on the memory front, I then read a few reviews about Kaspersky it was rated way above my old motorbike so I gave it a try - wow!
Easy to install [I'm no techno head] easy to set up it asks questions I understand and runs quietly in the background no memory hog.
One thing I feel about reviews they are often written as soon as someone gets the said product but I have been running this one for about a fortnight and it's fantastic.
